GYEON and CarPro are my two favorites and I use them regularly. CanCoat for a quick and easy super hydrophobic glossy as heck look. Cquartz UK 3.0 for traditional coating but also very easy to use. Opinions will vary.

There's are tons of reviews and comments on here, use the search button. One can't go wrong with CQuartz or Gyeon, both are proven to last and perform if the proper preparation is done

Mike, There are so many brands to choose and no review to prove it.

Best Ceramic Coating for Cars 2019 (Truth About Car Paint Protection)

I decided to pick one from Autogeek.net but even that is difficult for me since they are all look the same to me.
From your personal experience which one that you like the most?
I kinda like BlackFire or Sonax

thank you so much

In reality one can not go wrong with any of the coatings sold through Autogeek.

Sonax is good but expect to get exactly 1 year out of it. So if longevity is not of concern then it is a good option. Just be aware that if you have a larger vehicle you will need an additional kit. That is the downside with Sonax. This does perform better than Optimum Gloss Coat.

If you are looking for a 1 year option the consider the combo of Gyeon Primer Polish topped with Gyeon CanCoat and maintain with something like Cure. Great combo right here.

CarPro just realized their newest product in CQuartz Lite. Same concept with using Essence topped with CQ Lite and maintained with a Reload type product. I have a review on CQ Lite which you can find on here.

These are good options if you are not ready to move up to a full blown coating.

I have not used the Blackfire coating but from what I have seen it’s pretty user friendly.

I would recommend CarPro Cquartz UK 3.0 topped with Gliss V2. Good combo and overall performance. I have a thread in this as well.

I would skip Gyeon Syncro. I have a write up on this as well and it was a bit of a dud in the long term. Not worth the price based on my experience.

I have GTechniq Crystal Serum Light + Exo V3 on my other car and it is pretty good. I still prefer the performance of Cquartz UK 3.0 topped or untopped with Gliss.

My apology for not doing proper research here. Thanks for all the responses very much appreciated

You are safe buying any coating here on AG. Personally I like the CarPro line of coatings, never had any problems with them.

Wasn't trying to be a tool and I didn't notice that this was your first post.

Is 1 bottle of Cquartz 3.0 enough for one car? Do I need to buy cleaner to prep the surface?
How do you maintain the car throughout the year?

Thank you

I most cases yes one 30ml bottle can get you two coats easily with a little left over.

You can use IPA after polishing if you don’t want to invest in Eraser. Some of the more oily polished may require two wipe downs.

As far as maintaining you can use Reset on a monthly basis for that deep clean. The other times you can use a wash like Hyper Wash.

You then have the option to use Reload or Elixir. I would say get yourself Elixir as it leaves some protection behind but is easier to use. You can use Reload every month for a little more protection if you like.

Ech2o is nice to have as a waterless wash, rinseless wash and drying aid.

I almost forgot that it is recommended to do a decon wash every few months.

Thank you that was very helpful

I am on my 4th coating "tryouts" and am currently using GTechniq Crystal Serum Lite and EXO. My issues with the first 3 has been water spotting.

After researching all the coatings it seems GTechniq has acknowledged this by suggesting a layer or 2 of EXOV4.
We'll see.

They've all been relatively easy to apply. The 2 most important app tips for me are panel wipes before and work in smaller sections than you would with a wax or sealant.

Is this ceramic coating good for base clear and single stage paint?

Sorry I just now found this and then got to replying. Been busy writing reviews for new products, creating the boat thread and then doing all the behind the scenes work required to make a roadshow class happen.

To you question, anything on the AG store is bubba-proof. The MOST IMPORTANT thing when getting into coatings is to

READ the DIRECTIONS

With most coatings, after application you don't wait much longer than 30, 40 seconds or a minute before giving the just coated section a soft wipe to remove any high spots.

With some coatings - if you wait to long - the coating is going to become very sticky and also very difficult to wipe-off.

The Pinnacle Black Label Paint Coating is very easy to apply and isn't impossible to remove if you wait too long. I've never waited more than a few minutes so don't test the boundaries past that.

But anything off the AG store is a valid coating.

Some articles I write are helpful. Some are vital.

This article is vital.

It also has MORE information on a single page than you can find in a hundred posts in a Facebook group.

Installing a Ceramic Paint Coating? You MUST have a GREAT hand held light to avoid high spots!

I also highly recommend getting at least 6 GYEON Bald Wipes for chemically stripping. These towels are stout, not limp and fluffy. Limp fluffy towels don't work well for wiping scratch-sensitive clear coats with solvents.

Can't type volumes, not at my work computer, thus no arm-holder-uppers.

:)

Not that anything Mike says needs validation from me but trust me, he's soooo right about a good post app inspection light. I now have a good one that is handheld and that's important to be able to move it around and really check for any missed areas and high spots.

I also use Mike's advice about good panel wipes and with the right towels. Lower or shorter nap MF towels are best. I like Eraser from CarPro and use a plentiful amount the 1st wipe down and 2 towels. Then a mist or two on a third, clean towel and wipe dry.

I might go through 10-15 towels just wiping down after Menzerna polishes.

My thinking is...if I'm spending anywhere from $60- $85 on a coating I want to give it the best chance to bond and last. The directions tell you how to do that.

Mike, thanks for taking some times replying to my post I really appreciate it

Do I have to do something different in order to apply it to single stage paint?

Is this ceramic coating good for base clear and single stage paint?

I have heard it does not last long on single stage. Also something along the lines of absorbing differently compared to clear coat. Which is why some tend to stick with a sealant or wax on single stage.

Paul which 3 previous coatings did you run into problems with water spotting? Just curious...
