Hi all,

This weekend I plan to apply c6 Matte dash to my new maverick. I want to give it the best chance of adhesion. I have a few interior cleaners to choose from and im wondering which makes the most sense in terms of residue etc. Should I follow the clean up with a damp microfiber to remove any residue? in my mind, if there is a scent left behind there is residue left behind. I also have gyeon prep, but using IPA based stuff on my plastics and vinyl (i am assuming the arm rest is vinyl) makes me nervous.

Cleaners I have available

1. Ammo Lather
2. KCX All around surface cleaner
3. KCX Pol star
4. P&S absolute waterless wash
5. kcx greenstar

Start with the gentlest product first. Absolute or lather I suspect. APC or similar should be reserved for last case scenario. C6 is nice but not long lasting enough that I’d sweat the prep.

How long have you gotten out of c6? Im hoping for a seasons worth.

I aim for about 6 months. Our cars are garage kept and not driven extensively. I probably could stretch it longer but that’s a good average.

If I can apply it at the beginning of each season and it lasts until the next, im happy. Like I am hoping this application lasts until early September.

You could use Green Star to do a deeper clean, but it will leave behind some mild residue. Actually, I'd be more inclined to use Pol Star, followed by ASC or Absolute. Yes, Absolute will leave a polymer behind, but that won't be problem here. From what I've noticed, ASC has an element of IPA in it to flash away without leaving streaks, which would be to your advantage here.
