At a local store in Calgary they have a porter cable 7336 on sale for $187 CAD. would it be a better idea to buy this.. or get the 7424 off hear or from e-shine?
 
to me it is worth it to but thing through here just bc of thier great cust. service and bc this board has taught me a ton so I thought I would support the places I hang out.
 
you still need pads, polish, waxes, etc., cant beat AG for price, customer service and great advise from the members on this forum.
 
Got mine with a LIFETIME warranty. Not from AG though..
 
Yeah I fully agree to support where you hang out. There are just 2 issues that restrict me, 1. I live in Canada, so shipping is quite expensive. 2. I go to school everyday so I am only able to work 16 hours a week and therefor am looking for the best deals regarless of where and from who. Trsut me if I had the money everything I own would be autogeek. lol.
 
7336 is the PC that was designed for sanding. Same machine just has a 6inch counterweight. I have both and cannot tell a difference.

Go with the one that is cheaper.

I had to custom build my PC's longer cord. Heat shrink, soldering iron, and a 25ft. cord and I'm not cussing anymore!

The 7424 and the 7336 are the same machine, just with a different counterweight which does not affect the performance. :)

Your from Calgary too, cool that's three of us (that I know). CalgaryDetail, your self and my self nice!!! I totally agree with you about the shipping charges, but unfortunetly I have not found anything here in Calgary. No good pads, the waxes not sure just yet but nothing like Souveran...well that's just my opinion and the polish, don't get me started on the polish because the only thing available are the really cheap brand again just my opinion.

From what I have re-searched the 7424 and the 7336 are the same....oh yea I got mi PC at Canadian tire for...get this $239.00...I know crazy huh...but I really wanted it and it was the chepest I could find here in Calgary..I went to the House of Tools and it was over $300.

Yeah it's the last one in right now at house of tools and the guy said he would give it to me for 187.
 
Also Nica i agree with you about polish and waxes.. But Carlson's autobody supplies has some pretty good pads.
 
If you can aford it purchase it, you won't find it that cheap ever again. Trust me I've looked everywhere here in Calgary.
