Which sealant is the "brightest" or most reflective?

Chemistry and experience tell me that the vast majority of sealants provide only relatively short term visual enhancement. Despite claims, almost all the sealants I have played with will lose this much sooner than the water repellency. I think most people fail to recognise this but it can be easily demonstrated by reapplying to half a panel - at that point, you can see that the freshly applied area does standout.

But that's because there is some volatile or soluble component which evaporates or washes off in the rain/wash? I think most of us have experienced a sealant which seems to have some really great slickness or beading until a wash or two.

IMO:
Only once that your vehicle's paint has been washed, decontaminated, and polished---all of this "paint prep", in order to achieve the smoothest paint surface as possible (meeting your satisfaction)---will the Sealant of your choice have an opportunity to provide...according to: (just) your opinion...what entails "brightest" and/or "most reflective".

When the above "prep" has been preformed...
Here are some Sealants from which to choose:

your prep work is what makes it bright and reflective....so work on your prep, stuff on top is just for kicks. i like pinnacle liquid wax

I am not sure why others say sealants and waxes do not add to the appearance. Even after polishing, I have always noticed some increase of appearance after applying a sealant/wax.
Once a sealant or wax is applied, i would recommend a liquid spray that can be used to restore gloss after every wash.
I use Wolfgang spritz sealant after washes, and the gloss is awesome.

Agree that 90+% is prep, I love the gloss or Ultimate Paint Guard a Plus. More of a plastic or glass coated type of shine. One of the easiest to apply, sheds and sheets water incredibly, and great durability.

My favorite is BF Crystal Seal. So easy to use, who cares if you have to re-apply after every couple of washes. Not that I do. But I like the look so well, I don't wax anymore. CS is easy and takes no time, waxing is a PIA anymore.

I've found Klasse Sealant Glaze to have a very bright, glassy look. The high durability is icing on the cake.

It is because the fillers/glazing agents which are there to make it look great, don't bond to the surface like the components which give water repellency. But yes, a great many sealants may fit the OP's description, until washed a few times.

What causes this?

Is the sealant gradually eroded by the washing/wiping process and small defects are no longer filled?

Is the effect the same on perfectly polished paint?

Darn, just saw the answer in PiPUK's last post

You are a great resource to the Forum

The one that sits upon the most highly polished paint.

Most of the sealants today really just protect and I like the EXO v2, BFWD or IW845.

The pop and gloss comes from the polishing, the LSP can only ruin it, not make it too much better.

I use Gyeon Cure as a sealant and I really like it! Really reflective and nice beading and sheeting too!

I would nominate Wolfgang Deep Paint Sealant and the using the Detail Spritz Sealant every few washes to sustain the maximum look.

Finish Kare 1000P is very bright & reflective. Lasts a long time too.
