I recently took possession of a new 2022 BMW M240i in Portimao blue, which gets purple metallic highlights in the right lighting. I have been an avid 845 user for over a decade and think this time I want to step it up a notch.

My research has brought me to one of the Wolfgang sealants topped with Fuzion paste. My goal is to get protection from the sealant and an old-school warm metallic pop from the Fuzion.

But I am wondering if the Deep Gloss 3.0 or newer SiO2 formulation makes a better base for the topper - or if anyone might recommend a better base for the carnauba paste? Not interested in coatings. Thanks!

I’ll start by saying I haven’t used any of the Wolfgang products. But I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Deep Gloss 3.0. You may even find that you don’t need to apply the Fuzion paste to get the look you’re after. I would do the whole car in the DG3.0 and then look long and hard at it to see if a wax topper is necessary.

Congrats on the Beamer too!

I’ve used deep gloss sealant 3.0 under Fuzion. It’s a awesome combo. The fuzion is a hybrid wax with some sealant properties infused in the wax. The combo will give you the look you are looking for. Make sure to prep the paint (clay, Decontamination, polish) if needed. Good luck.

3.0 Ordered .. along with Fuzion and a bunch of other stuff!!

thanks

You’re welcome. The sealant and wax application and removal is effortless. The wax smells great also. Remember to apply both very thin.

As an avid Collinite user myself, (both 476S and 845) and someone who has used WG 3.0 topped with Fuzion I can tell you two things for certain:

1) The WG combo will blow your mind on a metallic paint. And both products are incredibly easy on/off.

2) The protection from the WG combo against bird bombs is almost zero compared to any Collinite product.

Just two facts for you to consider.............

I started using that WG combo, described above, about 4 years ago n never looked back, great shine.

Don’t forget WG Fuzion Spray Wax too. That’s all I needed to amplify the gloss and add a little protection.

Definitely a solid combo. I have used both sealants and prefer the 3.0 over the siO2. I recently used 3.0 topped with Fusion paste on my Challenger. As other have said, I was reminded how easy it was to use especially when applied thin. Good luck. Post some pics when finished

It all depends on if this is a daily driver or weekend warrior. If you're doing this to a daily, I'd recommend going with the SiO2 Paint Sealant prior to applying the wax just for the increased durability compared to the standard Deep Gloss Paint Sealant (plus the hydrophobic properties the SiO2 Paint Sealant will leave behind). But really, either one will leave a behind a glossy, deep finish to your paint.

DGPS plus Fuzion or Souveran = Chef's Kiss.

They are all just so enjoyable to work with and look tremendous.

I would just like to say that Blackfire Paint Sealant blows Deep Gloss Paint Sealant’s socks off.

As you were.

In what way(s)? Ease of use.....slickness....look...protection?

Yes, yes, and yes. Very easy to apply, wipes off like butter, slicker than a greased doorknob, great hydrophobics, excellent durability. I have used DGPS in the past, but Blackfire Paint Sealant takes home the win.
