white pad that comes with PC

Well i purchased the porter cable polisher over a year ago from AG. and it came with a white bulky pad that screws to the pc. we since i got pads an a new backing plate i just throw it in a box with other miscellaneous detailing supplies. while redoing the trailer this weekend i went thro the box an found it.

i was just wondering what do you guys use this for?
 
Works great for polishing the diamond plate that is often found on the bed rails of pick ups.
 
thats a great tip being that my trailer has diamond plate fenders an rock guard on the front. normally just use wool pads. only thing i thought it could be used for is to put a bonnet on it to take off LSP
 
I have used them for RVs. A few years ago I purchased 10 Porter Cable DAs and I put all the white pads and flat backing plate on eBay. They all sold!
 
Ditch it, or pull the padding away from the backing plate and use the pad to appy Tire Gel.......
 
Interesting, I have that pad somewhere too but never knew what to use it for. It seems like it would be really aggressive because of its density so that makes sense it would work well on metal.
