White spots on single stage

This car came in n had white spots all over it. It's a single stage paint job. 91 Z28. They weren't water spots but almost from a soap from a car wash. Any1 have a clue what they are? I removed them with Menzerna 2500 n 4500 follow up. Then I put a wax on it.

It seems that the finish was heavily oxidized and then the car was ran through a automatic car wash were the pre soak has a very strong acid substance and it spotted the paint. I have actually seen this happen on older single staged cars.
