Hi guys, newbie here. I "detailed" my new 2013 Range Rover Sport a few weeks ago and Im noticing a white stain/residue on Plastic trim along the bottom of car and in a few other spots. It looks terrible. Is this from the wax I used? or from one of teh other materials I used?

I clayed the car with CG Luber, then used CG Glassworxs Glaze, Then CG Jetseal 109, then finally I used CG ButterWet wax.

How do I fix this?

Probably either the glaze or the wax. Try an APC with a brush. Just be careful not to scratch the surrounding paint.

^^^^ that's it. Follow up with some exterior trim sealant.

Dear Hokboyc

wdmaccord is right on the money. Forum member Roshan (ihaveacamaro) did a video on this. It may take a good bit of gentle scrubbing with a toothbrush, but you'll eventually get there.

I have some stain on my trim but have neglected to do anything about it for at least six months, mostly because when I cover the trim with detail spray, it mostly and temporarily disappears.

Dear Hazcat

Which one do you recommend? I have an unopened bottle of Ultima Tire & Trim Gel, but I'm unsure if that's a sealant.

Some suggest Isopropyl Alcohol and agitation.

Do NOT buy the Duragloss Wax Remover. It is so bad that AGO doesn't carry it anymore.

I know this has been answered but wanted to answer as well since you asked directly. The Ultima is will work. Use a brush and scrub it well with it dry. Then add an all purpose cleaner (APC) and scrub it again. If you don't have a dedicated detailing APC you can just use a soapy solution or something like 409 spray cleaner and scrub it with the brush. Wash it clean with car was soap and rinse. Once it's dried use the Ultima Tire and Trim Gel to protect it and help restore it from all the soap and scrubbing. Even if you can't get 100% of the wax removed the Ultima should cover it so it doesn't show. That's sort of last resort and it will show through if you don't keep reapplying the trim gel when you wash it. I'd be prepared to scrub it each time you wash it for a while then again it might clean right up for you the first try. We've all been there and done that. I like to dress the trim with my sealant/gel prior to working the paint with polish or wax. It keeps any splatter from sticking and it wipes right off

I've tried a few things, better than APC is 1Z Deep Plastic Cleaner:

TS Tire Cleaner also cleans any gunk outta plastic:

And a brush. This one is from Karcher:
