My RL says "premium unleaded fuel only", and that's what I pump.klumzypinoy said:Wow a lot of that is true...I wish I can is 87 octane but my gas door says Premium Recommended. I like the part about car washes, gray water![]()
Yah, I don't go there either.supercharged said:My RL says "premium unleaded fuel only", and that's what I pump.
Daily Driver ('99 Infiniti I30) has a label "unleaded fuel only, premium fuel is recommended for maximum performance". So far i've been pumping 87 grade octane in Infiniti, I only pump Chevron, 76, and Shell. Been getting 19.5-20.5 MPG on average on it. Willing to try premium grade later, and if I'll be getting more miles per tank, I will probably pump premium.
If your car doesn't require premium, but only recommends it, then you can get away with regular. Just be sure you always pump top tier gas (matter of fact my Acura owners manual say about it - premium unleaded fuel only, top tier gasoline is highly recommended) which is CHevron, Shell, and 76 and you should be fine.
Never stop at Seven Eleven/Arco for gas (unless you are completely out of fuel, and there are no other gas stations around, then a couple of gallons won't hurt much).
