Why did AG discontinue Ultimate Fast Finish?

I've been researching and this was a highly recommended product that supposedly is super easy to use and lasts a year. Why was it discontinued? But they still have Meguiar's Paint Protect that no one seemed to like from previous threads.
 
Maybe Meg's themselves discontinued it

I was just trying to make sure there wasn't a bad reason for AG to discontinue it. I guess not, might have to get a can from somewhere else.

Meguiar's will only have it at select retailers. You can read into that they are moving away from offering that product. I bet the only retailers that still have it are the ones that choose not to carry their newest Hybrid Paint Coating.

Fast Finish likely will not last 1 year either. They came to that number because there were traces of it left after a 52 wash laboratory test.

You might get 6 months out of it. But with how easy it is to apply you could apply every couple of months and have continuous coverage.

I gave away my can after using it a couple times. I think Opti-seal worked a little better but nothing about the protection was really exciting. Self cleaning and making washing easier are important factors to me and it just didn't impress.

Meguiar's only 1 year protection product is Hybrid Paint Coating. Also in an aresol can but a completely different product. And no one knows if it'll go a year yet. But we're going too find out.
 
I used it a couple of months ago from the can I bought from around the time it was originally released and it didn’t even bead 5 days later. And that car had only been parked in my driveway the whole time.
 
It’s been officially discontinued by Meguiar’s.
 
I'm assuming if Meguiar's Paint Protect is not discontinued then it must be better. I remember that being all the rage when it came out. I think it is more of a sheeting sealant and people didn't like it because they wanted beads.
 
I thought it was a great product, and did see beading for multiple months. But the vehicle I had it on was traded within 3-4 months of applying.
 
I just looked and I do have a bottle of Meg's Paint Protect in the collection. I'll say this for Meg's, they throw alot of darts against the board but then again they can afford to. Meanwhile at Griot's Garage, Gyeon, CarPro, just to name a few.....

I just realized the exact same thing after reading his post just now. I seriously forget I even have that stuff and haven’t tried it in forever.

I’m starting to come to the realization that stuff, mainly lsp’s do in fact have a self life… Not necessarily this Paint Protect, [because I haven’t tried it] but other stuff that I do use I’ve begun to notice a drop off in performance.

(Notwithstanding ‘unique-to-resellers’
concerns/issues) I’ll take a stab and
say that, IMO:


•UFF’s sales were determined to be:
a.) lackluster/slow-moving
b.) not worthy of occupying
precious shelf-space

As such: it didn’t fit into AGO’s current
Operations’ Business Plan.


•Then again:
-It’s hard to stock/sell items that the
Manufacturer has discontinued making.
