Hi,
I treated my windshield with Gtechniq glass product and it has been great--water
rolls right off at 30 mph.

However, my windshield wipers chatter/skip when I use them, like there is
excessive drag. Car only has 3000 miles so blades are like new.
I then treated the rubber blades with Aero 303 which I love. Now it seems
like the blades have MORE chatter.

Any ideas on a better product for this application?
Thanks

Did you use G1 or G5? Did you follow the instructions to the tee?

This has happened to me when using FlyBy30. The wipers need to be completely clean with nothing on them. Try wiping them down with Eraser or some sort of APC. Other than that I have noticed that if there is wiper chatter after a glass coating has been applied it will typically diminish rather quickly after the wipers have gone through a few intervals in the rain.

Thanks, I used G1 and followed the directions exactly.

I'll try APC to get the wipers down to bare/clean rubber.

Use rubbing alcohol. I've bought some wipers before that came with alcohol swabs to clean them. Works great and super cheap.

Back in the day I was a mb mechanic their was a tool for checking 90 deg angle for the wiper blade.
You want the blade to be 90 deg against the window .. You adjust the wiper arm by bending or I should say twisting.

Wait, wouldn't the alcohol dry out the rubber?

@OP:
I would try 303 aerospace protectant. Apply to both blades, wait 5 min, wipe off with a MF. If there is a black stuff coming off on your MF, repeat the whole process until black stuff doesn't come off.

If you are still having an issue, just replace the blades. Some are terrible and some can just go bad after 6 months. Buy some Bosch Icons, and then do the 303 application until no more black again.

Disclaimer: I'm not very experienced, but I did this myself 2 weeks ago and it's a huge improvement.

The trick is to clean the blades the best that you can.

Topping G1 with G5 will also help.

IPA on a towel wipe them down until the black is gone Then wipe on a coat of silicone spray. That and rainx chatter is gone.
