Winter car care tip

Often overlooked part of the vehicle. Not only is it important during freezing temps, but if maintained from from day 1, makes a bigger difference to the overall 1st impression of a perfectly maintained interior. IMO It's these small details that make a big difference.

Thanks for this - been using VRP or 303 and it doesn't seem to last long. What do you use for prep? I'm thinking D101 @ 4:1.

I concur. Great stuff. I used it last year and loved it. Now I include it in my full detail package for customers.

Nice tip Mike! Didn't know AG sells this too.

Yes sir! :)

Very true and well said.

D101 works great but 4:1 is a bit overkill. Cut D101 to 10:1

Thanks for sharing Mike!

Sure thing!

Right on :props:

Great advice. D101@10:1 is just right for even the nastiest weatherstripping that hasn't been cleaned in forever.. Once you're on top of it Megs D114 is adequate for routine quik cleanings. I maintain weatherstripping with Hyper [email protected] and apply it with 1 of these little foam applicators. Works great and the rubber stays soft and conditioned.

With the upcoming winter season approaching take the time now to clean up and dress the rubber weather stripping around the vehicle to avoid having the doors freezing shut during those cold nights.

No sweat, just bust out the window. That oughta teach the door who's boss.

There you go. The important part is keeping the weather striping conditioned.

I agree Gummi Pflege is a great product. Great tip!

Lolz. Unfortunately I don't have much control of where Uncle Sam sends me.

However im not complaining one bit about being Germany and so close to the Nurburgring.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. But now I'm out of windows, and Big Jim & the twins have frostbite.

Hahaha.

I say this goes double for German cars all year round. As a former BMW owner who now drives a VW, I find the weather stripping used in German cars tends to dry our worse than others and starts making a creaky plastic-like noise. Cold weather seems to make it worse in my observation.

I'm a fan of Gummi Pfledge, but would be curious how that product compares to this one offered by 303.
