I started my detailing business in South Louisiana in November of last year. I work offshore five weeks at a time and then operate my detailing business on my five weeks home. My future goal is to transition into just detailing however what happens when winter comes for those that have been in business for years. We do not have harsh winters but it does get cool enough to register as cold for a few weeks.

I keep thinking of offering winter packages just to attract clients with keywording. I am partial to doing this because I feel I would not do anything different than the work I already do which provides pretty good protection for weeks at a time until they return for maintenance.

Anyone have any tips for the cooler months to come? Is there anything special any of you do to keep the new clients coming in?

It really comes down to your customer base. Once you've been doing it for quite a few years you should have enough customers to get you through winter time. I do slow down a bit during winter but I have enough customers to get me through winter. I help another company that does planes so if I'm slow one week I help them.
