I'm getting ready to winterize my car for the winter. For all who use 845, do you layer it on top of a sealant? Or as a standalone LSP?

I used as stand alone, two coats and it has crazy protection and beading

Thanks. How much time do you allow between coats?

Jake

I top it right over my sealant.
Love the stuff.

I always used it by itself, but you can layer over a sealant no problem!

2 coats will protect and bead like crazy all winter into next spring.

Gonna apply a coat of Blackfire's Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection on the Altima on this fine fall day, let it cure for the eight hours. Then a coat of Collinite 845.

Hi Jake,

Collinite 845 is a tried and trued wax that provides months of protection and yes, through a long hard New England winter.

I've actually applied it over a sealant and over itself. Personally, I cannot tell if one's better than the other or if one lasts just a bit longer....The bottom line is both ways work.

Whether Collinite over Collinite or Collinite over a Sealant, I always wait a day..

Tip

Regardless of the protection you use, it's important to wash the vehicle to remove the hazards of winter. I prefer warm rinseless washes then followed up by Duragloss Aquawax or something similar. By doing so it gives the protection a boost and this is always welcome during the winter months...

I too use it stand alone. I actually made it through last winter on one coat, but will go for two this time around just to be safe.

Hydro2 first as sealant like how its gets into all the nooks and crannies of the car also treats the wheels the glass everything. Then 845 over that on all the paint work.

I too agree with everyone here, apply #845 to the wheels and glass too!
