wipers sticking badly.... Annoying

Good morning everyone. Had a trip up to Myrtle Beach last week for Mustang Week. The whole way up it rained. Brand new wipers. Changed them because they would stick during the movements. And leave a haze that immediately dissapears after. Well, needless to say they are just as bad and even worse. It is so frustrating when it rains, you use the wipers and they stick and stutter the whole way up. Any ideas before I break out the windshield and get a new one. lol :nomore:
 
My old cavalier was the same way. Rain- x helped a little, as did buying cheaper blades. The 6.97$ Michelin from Walmart.

Ultimately the windshield was replaced.

The wiper arms might also be out of alignment. Most dealers have the tool, and windshield guys might have them as well.

Have you tried polishing the windshield with something? Generally speaking, glass is hard (although these new cars seem to have really soft windshields, especially the Asian ones), so use whatever compound you use on paint, that should remove any film, and see if that helps.
 
... since its two pairs of wipers in a row it would sound, to me, to be the wiper arm angle and/or pressure...

but as for cleaning the surface, if you dont suspect the wiper arms.. these are the steps id take to ensure peace of mind:

FIRST thing i would do is get a 4" razor kit and then use whatever glass cleaner you have to lubricate and scrape the whole winshield. with each pass i wipe off into a paper towel to keep off glass. Theoretically this should remove most all particles, films, etc. Then to be sure, SECONDLY i would clay.

Then you can be assured everything is gone.

Then to get UBER OCD ► ► ► THIRDLY you can polish the glass with a mild pad and M205, using the weight of the polishier only.

Afterward you will be squeaky clean and ready to add sealant of choice [including wax]

If that doesnt fix the noise then it is the alignment of the arm, but hell your glass will be CRYSTAL clear and GLEAMING!

Sounds like oil or something on the glass. I'd start less agressive and try a decent cleaner then apply Duragloss Rain Repel. I love this stuff.
 
Ok, dumb question. How can the wiper arms be out of alignment? Lol. It is so bad and annoying. I haven't tried cleaning it really good yet though
