I had a minute yesterday to fix my truck up for the upcoming week. What better way to test a product like XMT180 on these GA summer days where it rains pretty much in the evenings everyday. I completed a rinseless wash with DP's 4N1 and til this date no marring or scratching and I just use the one bucket method with a grit guard and schmitt yellow/white combo. Pretty brave on black huh???? :)

My truck color is Black sand pearl, but only in light does it shed it's greyish pearl metallics. Other than that she's JET BLACK. I applied the wax outside around 8am with a temp of about 74 and the process was smooth with no hicups.
  • After applying to the front fender with a yellow foam applicator. I noticed the pearl and flake glow as if the metallics wanted to pop! I proceeded to the rest of the truck and basically did a portion, let it dry, then buffed off by hand with Cobra MF.
I then took some DP4N1 QD I had made up and cleaned up the minor dust that fallen on it. Then the I snapped some pics for you guys. No wheel or tire detailing before I snapped the pics so basically this is for the exterior paint only. Oh yea I installed a color match grille black instead of the chrome one... I like :p

A must for anyone detailing! I'm hoping AG develops a liquid form because the ol' arm will start throbbin' after 3 SUVS :)

It's going to be my overall 1-2 punch for my wash and waxes, but I'm going to give it 5 days of no washing and put it through the touchless wash 3-5 times and check it's durability, then I'll now it's true potential.

so ur saying it makes your flakes pop and not hide? and did it darken the paint or brighten it? im asking based off of other reviews. i should of been testing some on a black chevy that's sitting in my garage right now, but due to circumstances haven't gotten my sample. why don't u try taking the wax out and applying it to a pc pad and doing it that way?

I guess the product does darken the paint under some circumstances. I mean the sun shines upon are cars different allday and on the full sun side the FLAKES did jump out... Now in the shade in overcast the black was dripping wet, so to answer your questions I would say it works both ways....?

I've never like the idea of dropping a whole carnuba block on the ground while trying to apply it to the pad... but my tires aren't dressed cause I took the pics prior to completing the detail :)....

Here is souveran on my same truck.. oh and look at the tires :)

I totally love your truck and it looks so good with XMT180 on it. Geez, I can't believe it rained on your truck too.
XMT180 gives good bead!:D

New pics...

I recently went over and tested out my moms new REBEL XTi and was able to get some flake pics and a few others. Enjoy :)

The XMT180 is holding strong and I've washed once @ the automatic and once with OPT No-Rinse. The optimum rinseless was pretty impressive compared to DP's 4N1.. I can't pick a winner... it may be a tie

:iagree: That one picture is like a work of art. Title it "Reflections". Reflection of your truck, and your daughter (I'm guessing) reflecting......lost in deep thought.

Yup thats our little guy "Will" 4 year old Maltese :)

Thats my Woman in the pic, not Daughter :)
