Is this worth anything or is it junk. I saw it today when looking for a particular product and it reminded me of those guzzler towels that sell for like millions of dollars. I am sure this one is by no means the same quality but it was only $7 and worst case scenario I can use it for wheels or door jams or something.

all I can say about it is it absorbs 3x's faster than cotton towels
retains over 7x's its weight in water
and leaves no streaks or water spots :D

is there a foam core?
what's the % of polyester vs polyamide?

try it and tell us how you like it!

I wanna say thats a negative on the foam core... seems to be pretty thin. Its 80% Polyester 20% Polyamide.

Hopefully if the weather is a little better I will be able to wash my truck tomorrow. I have a couple Meguires water magnets so I guess I can try to compare it to those. I am very VERY green and very much a novice with this kind of stuff so I am a little leery of giving a review that carries any sort of clout or decision making for the more elite users. However I will let you guys know my uneducated evaluation when I use it. In 2 opposite corners it even has pocket things for your hands. I just noticed that looking at the tag to see what its made of.

Yes, I have about 10 of those towels and use them ALL the time. For the same reason, I couldn't see myself spending a lot per towel. They are well worth it. I bought one to try out, then went back and emptied the shelf.

Thats good to hear, thank you. I do not mind buying a nice towel if its justifiable but if I can get close to the same results for a fraction of the price, I figure what the heck and spend the money on the polishes and waxes and such.

Now I wish I would have bought more... lol oh well. Its not like I cannot go back another day! =)

I have a couple of them...they work very well, but I only use them for blotting and soaking up water. You can sometimes pick them up dirt cheap at Sam's Club as a pack with some other MF items.

those look much rougher than Guzzlers ...

CD test it...thank you!

I just had to say/ask that.

Where did you find this at? Also, I work at sams club and I have never seen those, but then again, we tend to carry an item for a wile and then drop it.

...they feel similar to my meguiers water magnets? I never felt a guzzler so I could not tell you.

I am not sure what cd test is. I will do for you but you will need to explain.

I got from pep boys

My local Pep Boys carries those Peak towels.

Thats where I got mine! =)

I got the middle sized guzzler on bogo and I was surprised by its design. It felt like a microber towel that had a waffle weave in it.

I have two viking waffle weaves that looks like OP's and they are just thread weaved into a waffle weave. They seem to absorb just as much water. My guzzlers didnt absorb anymore than my vikings. I do like the softness though of the guzzler, but I have no marring from my old ones either.

They're ok but peak makes some others (same color) without the waffle weave that I like better.

I attempted the "cd test" as asked. I would supply a picture but there is not much to see and my camera would not pick up that amount of detail anyhow. Both towels ended up scratching the cd but I had to hurt my fingers, bend my finger nails and grind them into the cloth to get any sort of marring. The meguiers did do a better job but like I said, both took a tremendous amount of self-inflicted pain on my fingers to cause enough pressure to have them do any sort of damage.

Would you rub your paint that way? So what's the point of the test? But thanks anyway.

^^ Heck no!! I did it because someone asked me to try it earlier so I was curious and tried it out. At least now I know this towel should not be too abrasive? I guess I should have figured that since it was designed to dry a car but again, I did it to appease the person who asked and to satisfy my own curiosity as to how hard I would have to try to really put any sort of imperfections in the paint. Now I know I will more then likely dent or crease the body panel before I make any sort of marks haha!

oh oh, my bad...I was the one who requested the CD TEST; he sure did take the CD TESTING to another level. Thanks for the effort, much appreciated!

^^ No problem! It was fun and interesting to see how difficult it was to scratch the cd and actually put more faith in the towels so that I know I will not be scratching the paint with them. I even used the edges of the towels as well with similar results so if anyone is worried about the "rough edges" it seems they yield similar results.
