Hello,
Looking around and finding anything I need to add, I saw the big need of a Small Polisher.
I saw that one of the best Small polishers on the market is the Rupes 3Inch, And I would love if anyone could answer a few questions I have for this tool.

* Does it have any power cable? or just air compressor ? > I am asking this because I don't live in the US, and I have 220 Volt, so that question is... Rupes 3inch polisher a 110 volt machine ?

* Does this machine have only 4Inch pads? or I could just go ahead and buy Lake Country 3inch pads? > Question in short > Can I place 3inch pads on the machine ? if so, which ones ?

Looking forward for the answers, and Looking forward to have this! :buffing:

Thank you all ! Im the MANIm the MAN

The LHR75 needs an air compressor to work. I don't know the answers to the other questions so others will have to chime in.

Well power supply to the air compressor is not so much of a concern, but rather the size and the SCFM of the compressor.

The LHR 75 is an air hog. It consumes 320L/Min which works out to roughly 11 SCFM @ 90PSI (6 bar)

This means you need a compressor that has a large enough tank. Most 60 Gallon tanks are around 11-12 SCFM, meaning that they can power it. All in all I will state any 60 Gallon compressor can power it

Now I don't know for sure, but another forum member (raskyR1) has a LHR75 with a 60 Gallon tank, but I am not too sure on the motor specs. I know there are 120V 60 Gallon compressors in the states, but I can't get one in Canada. All are 230.

I don't have one of these bad boys yet, but I am getting one. This is what I found from my research. I am getting an 80 Gallon tank

Getting a 220Volt compressor is not a problem, the only thing I need to know if the LHR75 Needs a power adapter ( besides the air ) if not, GREAT!

And Could anyone answer my second question? can I use 3inch pads on the Rupes ? if so, which?
If not, can I only use rupes pads ?

Thank you all from your great help!

Well I am sure that air hoses and connectors are universal, or if you guys have a specific connector where you live it would just thread in.

It takes a 3 inch pad from Rupes, but I see no reason why you couldn't put on a 4 inch LC or a 3.5 MF pad.

I don't think rupes has a 3inch they only have a 4inch.

When I use rupes for smaller areas I think a 3Inch would help me Much more.
I am asking if I could use any other pads besides rupes Because rupes said in the description:
something like "don't use other pads because rupes is powerful ...bla bla bla, and rupes pads are build for the machine"

So what do you think ?

I've used non Rupes pads with my Rupes 21 with great success. That's not the LHR 75, but still, I think the concept remains the same.

I really hope so... I will try it first with a one of my family's car.

What about the power? Rupes LHR75 has any power ? or just the compressor ? anyone knows for sure ?

* Does this machine have only 4Inch pads?

^^^That's what is "sized" for this LHR 75 RUPES-system^^^

LHR75 Technical Data:

Ø pad (BP) = 75mm

-75mm = 2.95275591 inches

-Ø of your choice of 3" pads = (? mm/inches)
____________________________________________________________________________________________________

NOTE:
It's always nice (and safest) to have, at the very least:
A little bit of "buffing-pad" overhanging the backing plate.

Thanks again bob, Your very helpful ! :dblthumb2:

Once you get the correct air compressor, the Rupes LHR75 works really well.

You'll need/want to run it at full speed for correction work and be sure to have the pad firmly pressed against the paint when turning it on and while polishing or the high speed setting will tend to want to make the foam spread out via centrifugal force. This is normal for oscillating tools just sayin...

Can't see a lot of action in the time-lapse video but I did use the LHR75 extensively for this project. Even applied wax with it...

Robert DiTerlizzi, aka Impressions had a chance to test out the LHR75 during this project... maybe he can chime in with his thought...

The last "Art of polishing paint" advanced class was scheduled around a real classic muscle car with a brand new paint job as well as another real classic car in dire need of paint correction. I threw in a "modern" car to round out the class so everyone that attended could learn just about everything this is to learn about paint correct both for doing production work and show car work plus using waxes, sealants and coating.

It was a chance in a lifetime class, I wish you could have made it... I never get all the pictures I take up on the forum as it's too time-intensive but check out the picture I did get up for this class and you'll wish you would have been here.

My Detailing Bootcamp Classes are very good. I've been doing this as long and in some cases longer than most in this industry now and you will love the class.

See what others say here, these are from people from all walks of life, from around the country and even a few from around the world, some are young, some are old, some are professional detailers, some are professional painters and some just wanted to learn how to work on their own cars...
