- You are 99% likely going to be doing an extensive detail once you get it home anyway, ie decon and polishing prior to LSP application. If they instill a swirl or two, who cares.
Hey at least you saw they did it. I think a lot of time they use a qd/spray wax loaded with fillers and the person washing the car for the first time gets a big surprise when that stuff washes off.I go in knowing a full detail will be in the near future, but I do prefer to have to do as little polishing as possible and even better if I don't have to do it immediately.
The last new car we bought for my wife had only recently arrived at the dealership. After giving it a test drive and a close examination, I was pretty happy to see the paint in really good shape. While we finished up the paperwork the dealer prepped the vehicle. I took that to mean remove all the plastic protective material from the interior, remove the shipping block from the suspension, etc, and totaly forgot it meant they would wash it. The dealer ran the car through their automated car wash and must have dried it with a terry cloth towel. That soft Toyota paint went from being in pretty good shape to being massively swirled up. The dealership was very proud of the presentation, but I died a little inside knowing how much work they had just given me. From that point on, no washes, no matter how bad it is, because it could always be worse.
They tried to sell us on ceramic coatings. The salesman even pulled out a little buisness card size paper and a bottle of water. Dribbled a little water on it on both sides of the card as a demonstration. I just chuckled out loud. Which in no way did the water behavor mimmick a coating.Hey at least you saw they did it.
