Hello Folks,
I am thinking about a new 7 series BMW Individual with Moonstone Metallic Xirallic paint. Does this new Xirallic paint require any special regimen for routine weekly washings or maintenance. On my 2002 7 series, I currently use Meguiar's Gold Class for wash, P21S on the wheels, and keep both paint and wheels protected with semi-annual Klasse A-O-I and monthly P21S Carnauba (S100). I have been very pleased with results; I asked dealer about using the same regimen on the new Xirallic paint; naturally they didnt know.

Thank You All

As 'crystal pearl' OEM finishes gain popularity, PPG has launched three specialty-mixing tints to meet the refinish market demand. Crystal Pearl paint finishes began emerging in 2000 when several OEMs began using new Xirallic pigment technology.*

"In combination with various transparent tints and other paint components, OEM stylists are able to create much more chromatic colors without having to improve or develop conventional pigment dispersions."[/FONT]

It would appear that it's not new. It doesn't sound like any special care would be needed. Maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in.

Our Xirallic paint contains special particles that react to light more vividly than normal metallic paint. Sunlight brings the colour alive.

Nothing special as far as the paint care is concered

Is this similar to the new "tinted" clearcoats that are becomming so popular. Kinda like a pearl clear ??
