going to give this a shot on my 2003 expedition, those 6/7 years year it has only been washed. Reading the directions, it says to wash the vehicle then apply and buff the product, but never mentions claying, should i or do i need to do this step prior, thanks for any help, Scott

Claying the vehicle will help to rid the paint of embedded contaminants. That said, XMT is a paint cleaner/mild polish and will clean and protect the paint.

you will get better results if you clay. also, XMT 360 is a polish not a wax. so you'll still need to top it off with a wax like XMT 180. i've heard a lot of good things about that combo.

If the vehicle has never been clayed, chances are it needs to be. Only way to tell is to use the baggie trick after the vehicle is washed and dried. Also, XMT is an AIO product with mild polishing abilities, a cleaner and sealant all in one product. While there would be no harm in applying a wax over the 360, it is certainly not necessary, as the product is a sealant in its own right. Just be sure to use a pure wax and not a cleaner wax, as you want to work forward with each step, not backwards.

thanks, understand the use and need of the clay just wondering why the directions do not mention it. Was wondering if it is that abrasive. Guess the safe and right thing is to clay so i will just go that direction, thanks to everyone for the info. :dblthumb2:

So is it necessary to wait 12 hrs before you apply any wax over 360........beings it's a sealant ?

Good question...but not all sealants need to cure that long. Klasse products say at LEAST 45 MIN..but the longer you leave Klasse (as well as any sealant I suppose) the more time it will better bond into the paint. I found when using 360 it works best on "good" conditioned paint. I could not repeat the results when I used it on older painted surfaces. It DID leave a slick finish on all the surfaces and vehicles I used it on.
