Does anyone use the Yellow pad?

I have ever color but green and yellow. Since I am about to place another order, I am considering picking up a Yellow for tough paint correction.

Please provide your thoughts....

I use it when I have nasty oxidation to tackle and that is about it.

Yeah, the yellow pads are only used when the paint is oxidized. Stick with the orange pads; you might have to make more than one pass with them. Picking up some green pads is a great idea though! :D

When do you use the green over the other colors?

Was not planning to go green....but give me a reason and I am there..:D

As for the yellow, if I am using my PC with one small nasty scratch and using WG TSR, I thought the yellow would provide some help here. I have a red car which is a mess. I do not want to get started only to find that I needed Mr Yellow.

You could possibly invest in some Spot Buff Yellow Pads which are only like 2-3inchs which might be good for that one scratch that you would like to smooth out.

The yellow pads were designed for oxidation. Like Audi said, get some spot buffs. They are 4" pads. An orange 4" pad will cut better than an orange 5.5" pad.

I use the green pads when I have very very slight swirls, or the CC is soft. SIP and a green pad make a great combo.

I haven't had to use my yellows yet. My greens though, I use quite often.

Be careful though. There's two greens. Light polishing and heavy polishing. Both come before or after the white pad.

I never tried the light polishing green but the heavy ones cut a little more than white and finish down just as nice

i have the green heavy polishing pad for use with my flex 3401 and it is a very useful pad especially with sip. however it is only available in the 6.5 inch size. i wish that it was available in the 5.5 inch size as i think it would be perfect for my udm and the kbm.

Hmm...I'm talking about the green CCS pads...the ones that cut less than the white pad.

The bottom line is the yellow is (almost) out but the green may be in...

So with TSR and WG glaze...and soon to be 85RD....do I need this green pad? When do I use it with these products...?

When you start to work--get er done.

Just try things out, you'll figure out what works.

It is available in 5.5.....I didnt get them from ag though. And yes they work perfect with the udm

Like IMG said, just work with stuff. The combo you use varies from car to car. A green pad with something like SIP would work great for a Honda because the pad isn't that aggressive; you could probably even use something like green with 106fa. But yes, the bottom line is no, you don't need yellow. If you want to get green, get them just to have them and experiment.

Okay...as I was doing some clean-up, I noticed a scratch on the left front panel, which is the basis for the question on the yellow pad. I just used the orange with TSR @ level 6 with PC for a few passes. I got most of this out. You would never see it BUT I DO. My question is will the yellow help me with this one?

With a black car, you see everything (as you know). I do not mind spending $6 for a pad I use everyone once in a while rather than buying either the flex or some other product.

Lastly, I just used the new DP 4-1 in a DP mixture. This stuff cleaned in the inside of my wheels. I am still going to buy some P21S gel, but I am rather impressed with the new DP. Smells nice and is a bit stronger than the original.

How deep is the scratch? If you can catch your finger nail on it, it's too deep to be removed without some wetsanding. You might want to make a couple more passes and see if you can get it out all the way. Make sure to go back over the spot with TSR and a white pad as well before moving on to your polish.

You can't put your nail in it....

I suppose that I am a bit reluctant to put too much pressure on the machine and pad. This is no big deal with only one little scratch.

You can add some pressure, just don't push down super hard. You can't hurt the paint using the PC. Just make sure the pad keeps spinning.

I decided pass on the yellow pad and thanks everyone for the time and help. I plan to make this work with the orange.

In closing, I used the new big green Cobra 750 MF. I liked this towel for QD and Fuzion removal. Not so much for TSR and WG Glaze but just okay. Also, the WG QD was just as good as Zaino Z8. Did a great job and the green monster performed perfectly. Very happy with the complete WG line.

I just bought the Menz 85rd. Did someone say time to AMP this up a notch. The blue pad is calling me....Yeah, I am addicted and proud of it!

Yeah, take your time with 85rd and your blue pad and you'll get great results!
