Ive been practicing with menzerna 400, I need more PATIENCE.

Meg's Ultimate Compound or Meg's 101 if I need some tough stuff. Key to really kicking it is to use them with Microfiber. Both will remove just about anything and finish out nicely. Perfect no, but then I can go over them with just about any polish and in just a few passes have perfection.

M105 has been so finicky I've never quite mastered it, I'm not sure why?

This is an air tight post, no doubt about it. I jumped all over Meg's M101 when it came out years ago and it has never let me down, doesn't dust up as much as you would think it would either. Now Meg's UC does a fantastic job AND is available OTC if you ever run out. Now I have never needed to use either one of them with a MF pad but M101 is engineered to work with foam, seeing it was developed in Europe where they apparently don't use wool, just foam, atleast that's what I remember being said about it.

I used M101 on my Abarth when it was new, yeah overkill but then again I wanted it perfect for the then new DG paint coating and it did finish out perfect. I used an orange GG pad with my GG6 set to speed setting #4 with M101 and it came out awesome!

Nowadays...I hardly ever go any
"stronger" than Meguiar's UC.

Depends on the paint but FG400 when can get the desired results with foam, and Griot's Fast Correcting Cream when I need a MF cutting pad.......

Used to be XMT4 but now that's discontinued. I use Griot's FCC and love everything about it (ease of use, results, smell, working time, cost etc.)

Short working time and dusts a lot. Foam Compound 101 dusts far less and has a better working time. If you have 105 left, mix in a little bit of Ultimate Compound. Try 3 drops of 105 and 2 of UC on a pad and give it a whirl. Seems to extend working time with minimal impact on cutting. Worked for me at least.

Meguiar's Ultimate Compound. Sometimes M100, or FG400. UC gets tried first.

Rupes Zephir if using the Rupes.

Depending on the paint, for severe defect removal, I'll usually test in this order:

1. D300
2. M100
3. M105
4. M101

M100 is what I've been using the most lately.

Megs 101 or Pinnacle advanced compound for me. Always read good feedback on Menzerna FG400 but its not available in NZ. Mind you, neither is Pinnacle . . . hmmm, next order maybe. :buffing:

Worked with Megs 105 for years on a rotary too ( intended use is via rotary ) & sure its dusty but I kinda expect a bit of dust from any compound.

Aaryn NZ. :xyxthumbs:

Scholl Concepts S3 GOLD XXL is my newest heavy duty compound that I have fallen for, but that is overkill for most cars.

I am loving the GG Fast Correcting Compound lately too. Simply works.

I keep M101, M105 and UC on hand too. I use UC as a 1 stepper all the time. M205 gets all the praise but I think UC is their best all around compound. I can't remember when was the last time I used M105. I have 1 bottle of M105 that is mixed with UC (about 50/50) that I use once and a while.

I was really enjoying using the Menz FG400 for about a year or two and still keep that on hand, but the solvent smell kept giving me a headache.

Menzerna SHC300, HC400, Meguiars M101, Scholl Concepts S3 Gold XXL, S20 Black, GTechniq P1, Koch Chemie H8.
