Only a decade ago I remember when there was just a handful of brushes aimed towards detailer's. I has better luck buying my brushes at janitorial supply houses. I even used brushes designed for dishes etc. I was thinking since there's so many why not show off your trusted and favorite brushes for certain applications? So far all the ones I have do the job some better than others though I find myself always looking for ones that can do it better! For example the interior brushes I had that were safe on all surfaces and leather were a waste of money since they didn't have a handle and and a pain to hold especially when your trying to hurry! So I searched for one with an angled handle and flat soft bristles, but not to soft that they wouldn't work well on the steering wheel grime. I have new interior mitts coming I ordered from black Friday and I see a shifting market from

interior brushes moving towards mitts and I think that makes allot of sense. LET'S SEE YOUR BABIES!!!

Brushes are a last resort for me... The only exception might be tires.

Every brush I have ever tried will scratch or mar delicate surfaces regardless of their claims otherwise.
 
I only have a few brushes. Two for the wheels, a soft one for faces and a long Speedmaster one for the barrels. The others are some small, soft ones. The softest is used to clean around badges and logos on the outside. The other gets used for brushing out bits of crud from around buttons or other seams on the interior.
 
on a bike, there's not much to do with a brush other than a tooth brush....i use it to clean the calipers when the pads are removed....i use it to get into some nooks and crannies underneath and in the front near the oil filter location on a vtwin engine....sometimes if washes aren't cutting the grime that builds up on the underneath of fenders, i hit those with a brush
 
I have a bunch, but actually use very few, all depending upon the task(s) at hand. But… if a green CG Wheelie is scratching a rim face, there’s something wrong with the rim, not the brush.

:iagree: most all brushes will scratch it's just the severity on how bad & quickly it does it...

if the wheels are painted, i like to use these (soft merino lambs wool) wheel wool mitts..

I think the powder coat on rims is tougher than y’all are making it out to be. Sure, I don’t disagree that you should go with the gentlest product that does the job, but sometimes you just need more fire power. FWIW, I use (and love using) the super-gentle Microfiber Madness Incredibrush, which is perfect for garage queens and babied drivers that get a lot of attention and upkeep. But 19 out of 20 cars I see are usually very neglected (by our standards), many not getting more than automated car washes a few times a year. Caked on brake dust laughs in the face of Wheel Woolies and Microfiber Madness mops. And forget about cleaning a dirty tire with anything but a stiff brush.

Nicely put Buddy! Not to mention 1 out of 20 interior jobs might not need a brush to remove steering wheel and shifter crud! (BRUSH)
Cracks where the moldings meet, and buttons have tons of dust and almost looks like sand (BRUSH)
Door panels with arm rest that again have tons of arm sludge caked (BRUSH)
Panels in general with black shoe marks at bottom (BRUSH)
Seat belt straps with Makeup on them and what ever else (Brush)
Carpet(Brush)
Engine(Brushes)
I could go on but you get it. If your a garage queen and take your shoes off before getting in the car and drive with gloves than just don't comment. I want the detailer's that have to deal with this crap everyday to maybe show off a great brush they love! That's all. I'm not concerned my brush is going to scratch a rim. Serious???

If your anti detail brush spend the money on a work stuff brush and order an Albino white model.

Just got this but I liked using the saver applicators better than sponges for tire products. Saves on product and applied pretty even. Figured I give the Saver made for tires a try.

EZ-Detail brushes have become strong favorites of mine, the small, large and Go versions -





Absolutely love the Go version, excellent for wheel arches.





The DF Tire brush, one for tires and one for rubber floor mats, brilliant little brush!





Long handle Vikan brush for wheel arches and the truck tray -





DF Ultra Soft for dusting vents and switches -





RG XL brush for applying tire dressing -



 
I have 3 smaller (marketed as exterior detailer brushes) that I use sparingly around the badges on the car. I may also use them (sparingly and lightly) in the crevices between panels (body parts). They are also good for reaching those hard to reach door jam areas. I only have 1 mildly aggressive wheel brush but it's only used for undercarriage and suspension cleanup.

But... I do have 2 stiff brushes for tires and floormats.

Have the same set, also the makeup brush but haven't used it yet. Actually I have all of them except the blue wheel I like it allot!

You two only cost me $13 on the EZ. That is a killer brush! Love it! Now that's what this thread was for!!!
