Zep citrus does it dry out plastic / rubber

I used to only use this to clean tires. I would always dress the tires after. I have never noticed them being any more dryed out than with any ither cleaner.

On the "not for use on" section of
the back-label of this particular Zep
Citrus product...plastics are one of
the listed materials.

I don't see rubber listed as a no-no.
You be the judge.

Any highly alkaline cleaner has the potential to dry out soft surfaces, but don't overthink it. Unless you're using it very frequently and applying no dressing or protectant, I see no reason for concern. I do an engine cleaning yearly on my 30 year-old El Camino using Citrus diluted to 1:4 and have never noticed a problem, even though most of the plastic and rubber parts are just as old as the car.

it looks like its for cleaning tile floors, i wouldnt use it. there are so many great products for cleaning rubber and plastic on cars that there is just no reason to use harsh industrial cleaners.
