Welp totally unexpected. The Dr located the rattle/knocking and turns out it's the new GodSpeed end links they gave up the ghost after 7000 miles of rough Canadian roads.. Fortunately, I had the old NAPA links in hand, but replaced the zerks for some new grease. had to postpone the control arm install due to extreme heat in the shop

Just seems odd that last night while driving around the knocking as louder. Then after greasing the control arm ball joints, the knocking doesn't seem as loud. I just know that the ball joint boots have ruptured or were damaged by the trip of the other shop. Thus my feelings on replacing the control arms with serviceable ball joint.

The Dr has a game plan and currently I'm waiting on those mevotech control arms. We'll be systematically replacing a few things I've already stockpiled. Although I don't trust some of the things he wants to place, I'll have to go with the flow. After all he is the Dr.

This morning, went out to link up our bluetooth mobile scan tool. Not that anythings wrong, but because we park the van in a garage, the system wasn't working. So Drove over to the farm store and linked up. works fine except.. while on a table.. the app would not go into landscape mode.. Just contacted the app developer asking if they can correct this.

Tomorrow and this weekend the new navy blue vinyl wrap and 4 cans of the lifter1 bug and tar remover should arrive. Then Sat morning it's off to see the Dr for his assessment of what we need to install next.

Now we're just waiting on the new serviceable ball joint mevotech control arms and I should have ordered these from the beginning. Even the tie rod end could hold enough grease so we may have to replace those also. Turns out we must have hit some back bumps in Canada which forced out the grease.

Welp my assessment of what the knocking sound could be.. is correct I ran to autozone picked up some STP grease loaded it into the grease gun and was bale to grease 3 out of 4 ball joints. The two control arm ball joint boots are toast but I was able to get some grease in them. Took the van for a test drive and not a peep of knocking.

The 2 WIX air filters just arrived and can't wait to get this installed. These filters make a big difference in the van's performance as they are thinner designed as compared to other filters. Sadly, I'm not willing to buy another K&N filter as the first one contaminated the mass air sensor. K&N claims this can't happen.. Bet me..

In order to save the knocking control arms till the new control arms arrive, I order a heavy duty grease gun and it just arrived, But without the grease. I had ordered 2 grease tubes, but just canceled that order as I can run over to autozone for a single 14 oz tube this evening.

So last night and for the past few days I've been hearing a slight knocking coming from the front end. I've suspected the ball joints on the 1 year old control arms and was proven to be right. This time I ordered the extreme duty control arms with removable/adjustable ball joints. I prob should have ordered these from the beginning..

The Reddit community is becoming more interested in our van's current setup. one reddior even admitted that he removed the air restrictive tubes from the air box and is going to start removing the active slats from behind the front grille this evening. He's already said removing the tubes has made a big difference in his van's performance.

Scheduled an appointment with "The Dr" at Meineke Sat Morning. Going to have him check the front end after some very rough roads through Canada. Plus I want him to replace the drivers side strut and strut mount. Then going to have him offer up his suggestions about the new GodSpeed end links..

last night the wife and I talked about our trip through Canada. We both were not impressed with Canada.. Bad roads, bad hotels and bad washrooms as they call it.. The only good thing about Canada, was the Canadian rockies. So avoid driving through all of Canada just to get to the rockies..

Although many of the roads into Canada were bad.. the worst part about our trip.. the hotels and rest stop bathrooms (or washrooms as the locals can it) were nasty.. it wasn't a very good time for travel as nearly every road we dover in US and Can was being worked on.. some Canadian detours lead to some mild off-roading..

Van cleaning aspect along the way, we used 3 cans of the liter1 Bug and Tar remover & 4 cans of the meguiars Bug and Tar remover. 2 cans of the CrC break clean, 3 cans of the gumout engine tune, 2 cans of the WD40 Silicone spray and one bottle of the rainx windshield wiper fluid.
