BOGO Disappointment Thread

No way! In my opinion theres some great deals there! LC pads! Fixer! TarX! Poorboys!

Well, I haven't used PB red but Blue is so great and I know a lot of people like the red. I don't need any wax but sounds good for those who do.
Agree on the TarX, and Fixer, and gotta admire AG's determination to get flat pads into our paws even if they are an inch larger than most folks (incl. me) would like (oops, AG, miscalced on the size someone did, non?). But regardless of the quality of the product, who actually needs a half gallon of Natty's Red? Maybe if 8 guys in the same town had want or need and split a bogo order of that 8 ways, but half gallon

If I happen to put together an order on a free shipping day will get some TarX and fixer for sure. And might even break down and get some flat pads. Can always cut them down I suppose, and recycle the scrap into PERL applicators or something.

Those are some great pads. $5 each is a bargain

I have agreed that these are a great price at 5/piece on Bogo, but they've been on the list forever is where I'm at.

It's kinda of like those bargain bins at wally world or any retailer. Those items (this case 6.5" flat pads we're talking about) are on sale for a reason - and have been Bogo for a few weeks in a row now. Couple things that means to me...

1) With the release of the new LC pads they want to move these out as much as possible (this is why I, and I'm sure many believe they've been on Bogo the past few weeks). Which makes complete business sense to me.

2) Why are they still on Bogo? The homer items we see usually don't last more than their first list on Bogo - these have been on Bogo for weeks. I imagine if they where more than a normal hit (increase) in sales of these "old" 6.5" pads before the release of the new LC pads they won't be listed again this week. Couple things that means to me... 1. They still have an excess of them even after listing them on Bogo (even before the release of the new 6.5" pads) the past weeks. 2. The new LC pads (my order is in:buffing:) are selling like hot cakes and are decreasing the sales of the old 6.5"s.

Like I said I'm only semi disappointed with this weeks Bogo. I might be picking up some Tar-X for this coming construction season and I do love me some Poorboys Red!

I would've jumped all over this BOGO if I hadn't bought something last week. I can't come up with enough items to get free shipping.

Tar-X, Fixer, Liquid Souveran, DP Microfiber Cleaner, Natty's Red, Poli-Coat - doesn't seem too bad to me. Heck, even the pads aren't a bad deal, given you can only get four at a time - if you really need pads (and remember, people do use polishers other than DAs - i.e. rotaries or the Flex), you'll have gotten a chance to get twelve by now at $5 each.

As for the person who said they raised the price on the Liquid Souveran - maybe you mistook the Liquid Souveran for the Souveran spray? Because as far as I can tell, Liquid Souveran has always been $40.

Is the limit 4 total or 4 Bogo (which would be 8 pads)?

The thing that drives me crazy is when they raise the price on the BOGO items on Fridays and give us the appearance the the prices are a mega-deal. Reminds me of what amazon does. (2) Pinnacle Sovereign for $40...thats like $5 off/bottle. Come on now...

Say What? So you are saying The Liquid Souveran is normally $25 a bottle? I always see it at 39.99. I think you are looking at something else there Timmy.

Here's what it says on the BOGO page:

Please note, each customer is limited to a total quantity of four of any single item per two week period that the item is buy one, get one free.

So a total of four items, not four BOGOs.

I will definitely be taking advantage of the new bogos. Tar X, Fixer and Liquid Souveran for sure!

sent from my brain using my thumb.

I asked Nick this question when they 1st went BOGO.
On the BOGO's, it says "Maximum of 4 of any one item".
Is that a total of four shipped, or a total of 4 BOGO deals (8 shipped) ?

I want to order the LC 6.5 Pads, but don't know how many I can order...

Please advise,
Tim
He replied:
Tim,

4 quantities, so 8 total items.

Not to step on anyones toes but what the heck do you expect them to do? They are a business that wants to make money. Do you really expect them to put the most expensive desirable products on bogo? Just because YOU aren't happy with whats listed doesn't mean that it sucks. Im sure there are many members who will take advantage of it because of whats listed is exactly what they wanted.

You guys should be thankful that autogeek has bogo sales.

I know I am.
I have stocked up on quite a few things. 6.5" & 5.5" LC flat pads, the drying towels ( great size for me for ONR ) come to mind.
I know I have done a few others things, as well. Just cannot think of them at the moment.

You do realize that when things go on BOGO, AG is still profiting right? When they can give 20% off their prices, they are still profiting...no business would do something that would take away their own money. Now think about it, when they are not discounted or BOGO but sell someone a product at listed price, they just make more profit, just as when something is on BOGO/-%, they make profit but not as much.

And generally people are not asking for the most expensive items such as Fuzion, supernatural, CG skull wax, they are asking for things within the $20-30 range.

Again, if those requested items are listed, they will move inventory and AG will make profit, just not as much as if it was not on BOGO and someone bought it because they needed it immediately.

And lastly, people who post in this thread are just voicing their disappointment for the past few BOGOs which were lackluster, but again that is just opinion.

I couldn't tell you the last time I participated in BOGO. The Tar X is pretty tempting though.

I personally want to try the chinchilla towels ($8 list price), and kwazar bottles ($15), but not pay willing to $8 a piece for the towel and $15 a bottle, even at BOGO price, that's $4 for a towel and $7.50 for a bottle, which is a lot for a towel and a bottle (of course they are marketed as a premium category within their class) and I know it does not cost them even the bogo price of $4 for the towels or $7.50 for the bottle, therefore at bogo price they make some money, I feel a little better about the price, and will probably buy more due to the knowing the rarity that it will be back on bogo anytime soon so hoard it while its up.

No dissapointment here, I will be purchasing the fixer and tar x as I hear they are excellent products. And quite frankly they have no obligation to do buy one get one but they do, so im happy they give me the chance to get double for what I pay for

i agree on the bottle... 15$ for a SPRAY BOTTLE....
15$ could get me some good chemical products...
but what we are getting is a plastic made spray bottle.... EMPTY....

I am, I just wish that they would do half price instead of BOGO. What would I do with two 32oz jars of Natty's Red? I don't even know what I would do with ONE 32 oz jar.

Well, stores do price "loss leaders", like the stuff at the supermarket at the price you can't pass up...that's to get you to buy all your groceries at that store this week, instead of the one on the other corner. If you notice, most of the BOGO stuff is PBMG brands that probably have the highest profit margin (therefore the least loss on BOGO) or stock that they're trying to clear to make room for a new version. So BOGO items may be at no profit or at a small loss (although not likely)--but if they get you to place an order you wouldn't have, or to place it with them instead of someone else, it works out. They are also counting on the supermarket thing "well, since I was ordering to get that BOGO I couldn't pass up, I also ordered x, y, and z, while I was at it :o "
