BOGO Disappointment Thread

No comment...I got nothing nice to say to most of the people that posted in this thread.
 
Lol not you. If people don't like something don't buy it. I see nothing wrong with what's up there today. I wouldn't mind getting half that stuff. Sure I haven't liked the last 2 bogos but what's the point in bitching about it? Again not towards you Mr NASA ;)

while you didn't directly aim your post at anyone...if you have no comment, why don't you just "don't post a comment" then? " People who were in agreement that they didn't enjoy the new BOGOs are just stating their personal opinion.

It's kind of like when I read a review about a product that has great reviews but I personally did not find it all that great, I don't post in the thread saying "nope, I don't agree that this product is great" I just read and move on...

off topic but awhile ago you were looking for some microfibers that you linked a picture of and I pointed you towards the CG work horse, was that what you were looking for?

And for me i expected more... because next week is detail fest... considering is one of those big event that AG host....

So i guess disappointments have its place and that's why this thread was created, unless AG is planning on changing that BOGO again next friday .... but we will find out next friday =]

More of what? Better products? Products with more product(more ounces)? I dont follow.
 
I can only offer my thoughts and advice on BOGO's not as a consultant that represents PBMG:

There is alot that has to go into offering a consistent BOGO program that changes every two weeks. You have to try and include a variety of products and often measure how much of a product is available to fufill the sale.

I am also not putting the newest and best selling products within the BOGO as its not necessary since its moving very well and often times quanities are limited and additional replenishment orders are being finalized or in place. Besides the forum discounts, free shipping offers, and more offer most of this at a reasonable price versus competitors and a full time price guarantee assures its the best price if a competitor happens to offer it lower on their limited sale.

I then want to look at products that might be overstocked, might be established brands but a product within the line got missed, or perhaps gotten missed with all the NEW ITEMS released that were similar in design but overshadowed it.

Is the product and line a house brand ?? Because I control the costs somewhat on that product and line I as a retailer might have a little more give available and can offer the greatest reward to its client base.

Finally I dont necessarily want to place a complete overlap of a product type at one time. (all tire dressings) So I add variety in different items from different aspects within car care that can work together or fill voids in a collection.

I dont think anyone can offer that the BOGO area was designed simply as the only place to shop at any retailer. Its an area to help support and fill in while placing an order with many different items. Its often like finding "special values" and "clearance" in a retailer. Most the time our shopping basket has other items in it but we do feel rather excited when one/two/three items fit our needs at the moment and we can stock up. Thats my personal feelings ....
 
It's not easy satisfying everyone's wishes but all in all I think the current BOGO offerings are not too shabby at all....:props:

Perfectly stated Scott! I've always thought about it the same way. Personally I've had many many bogo where I say ok, I have that or don't care about that and I move on. Imo I wouldn't do it myself but theres certainly no problem having a thread where people state there disappointment if that's what they feel since it's a forum.

BUT, I know Meghan works very hard and then we get a bogo that honestly has incredible products on it and I just don't get it personally. Just my opinion. You don't see a bogo with products this exciting more than a few times a year.

My thoughts exactly Bobby!!!!! Those last three would be in mine as well. I've never tried them. Curious about the Muc Off. I know DJ magic DAVEY loves the line. But I think it's the name that hooked him :laughing: j/k
