The Best Paste Wax is...

BF Midnight Sun.

Adam's Patriot.

I have a panel pot of Dodo Supernatural waiting to be taken advantage of.

I have used many different waxes and sealants over the years. For me the best is one that will not stain trim, goes on easy and comes off easy and lasts a reasonable amount of time. For me this is Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0. I also like Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Car Wax and for the price It is hard to beat Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax. In a paste I like Poorboy's Natty's for the price and Pinnacle Signature Series II Carnauba Paste Wax. If price is not a factor I like Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax.

However the best wax is one you enjoy using, as long as you use it. Like Mike says "Find something you like and use it often."

"best" is almost always subjective. Of course people are going to say what they use is the best. I use Souveran, I'm not going to say something else is better, if I felt that way, I'd be using it!

Im not a wax guru but pete 53 was a win in my book, was my first paste wax used n been hooked on it. Goes on like butter, easy to wipe off. No effort just great results.

In terms of value

Show wax: Victoria Concours Red

Best overall wax: Soft99 Fusso Coat

Best wax is this. I have been using it since I was 13 I'm now 27 (but feel 18) :cruisin:

Try the Pure Concourse 50/50 really good wax!

Yes, then I'm not crazy, I am seeing
Purple (3 coats). Still can't decide if
I like or love this wax. BTW, if anyone is interested in venturing to the dark side, Zymol sells "panel pot" sets of 3 different waxes there website for 100 or 200 dollars, depending on the wax. I think you get three 2 ounce samples. A nice way to try some expensive wax........
Nobody likes Zymol here????

I do :) I bought a while ago the sampler #2 that contains Concours\Destiny\Atlantique. I tried all 3 and for the price Concours (if bought alone) would represent the best deal of the 3 Zymol waxes mentioned above and by far. To me the shine is pretty much the same and highly dependant of the surface prep anyway. In terms of sheeting and beading those Zymol waxes are unmatched. They are better than Swissvax Concorso which costs more than Zymol Concours. Concorso reminds me of Pinnacle Souveran but lasting longer. Zymol Concours sheets better and last longer than Concorso and Souveran. When my car is waxed with Zymol Concours heavy rains literally washes my car and restore shine itself :) I never had a chance to try the Glasur wax but I'm quite sure it performs the same. Concours doesn't buff as easy as Concorso nor as Souveran.

In terms of ease of use Pinnacle is the king except it doesnt last that long (about 6 weeks durability for my daily driver that is always parked outside)

For me a wax that's really durable and protective is key. I'll give up a bit of shine for a wax that is up to the challenges of a daily driver. For me that seems to be Collinite 476S or 915.

Recently, I asked Mark at Collinite about high hood temperatures and if Collinite could resist burnoff on a hot car hood. I mentioned that Finish Kare 1000P was good up to 275 degrees as an example. He responded: The polymers in the wax have been tested above these temperatures and it did not break down the wax. I do not have an exact figure for you on what the highest temperature the waxes have withstood.

The OP says favorite paste wax but I'm not much of a paste wax person now that sealants are around. I tend to put down a sealant and then use a spray wax right after I wash my vehicles.

All I can say is what I like in a paste wax from days past. Goes on easy, doesn't stain trim, comes off easy, lasts a couple of months, doesn't dull my polish job, and doesn't cost a fortune. Last time I used a paste wax it was Turtle Wax Ice which you apply directly over the trim but that was years ago when it first came out.

It's difficult to find a Wax-product that's contains only natural wax(es).

Even two of my all time favorite "Waxes"...Meguiar's M16 and M26...contain: Siloxanes and silicones.

Collinite is called a paste wax but its properties are equivalent to sealants. It will last up to a year, it won't burn off in the heat of a summer day, and it is, according to many users, effective against bug splats and bird bombs.

I've used sealants like Hi-Temp HT-62 "Terminator" and Finish Kare 1000P, Meguair's Ultimate Paste Wax etc. They've got nothing on 476S.

You won't find one. Carnauba wax in its virgin form is almost as hard as a rock. Solvents are required to make the wax usable.

My first love was Meguiar's M26. Next was, and still is Zymol Carbon. Turtle Wax Ice Paste has excellent durability, and I'll use that once in a while too. Lately, I've been toggling between Zymol Creame, and Surf City Garage Barrier Reef Paste.

I actually got pretty good beading this past spring with the Barrier Reef Paste, and that was without even prepping. I have a couple cars that are going to get the full SCG treatment (beyond clay/nano seal/barrier reef paste). I've had the product just sitting around because I'm mostly ever using Meguiar's. So far, I like what I see.
