The Best Paste Wax is...

Based on Auto Express the winner is Turtle Wax ICE Synthetic Paste Polish.

Quote
We applied 25 waxes and polishes to a scrapyard bonnet, and monitored water beading over six weeks during the worst of the winter snow. Price played a relatively minor role as we picked the three

I dont see the list of all the waxes they tried.

I did a 6 month test of 3 polymers : ultima paint guard, duragloss 501 and Rejex. No diff whatsoever. Cost gave the win to duragloss, ease of use gave it to ultima as there is no buff.

But I think best answer is the one applied over a perfect prep job.

How many of these threads are there already?

^^^Most assuredly!!!...:iagree:^^^

BUT:

It seems many paste-wax formulations,
Will conjure up certain: "stimulations".
Even I'm on "needles & pins"
To see what's in, the below tin.

But on looks alone, SV Concorso and Auto Finesse Spirit are my two favorites. Dodo PH pro is another awesome wax and AG carries it.

That is my pick as well. My favorite wax hands down.

For me its the
Ease of use and great looks - Fuzion, SSII, souveran, P21S concours, DP max wax!(In the order from best to good)

Really want to try Zymol Glasur next!

I actually applied some of this yesterday to my Black BMW. I've now applied 3 coats and I can't decide If I love it or don't. I need some more sunny days to decide. Does anyone notice a purple sheen this wax gives a car, or am I crazy???

Based on what I have read on the Dodo Juice forum, after a few layers you can begin to see a tinting effect. You also reach a point of diminishing returns as well.

The wax is purple, so yes, it will make the car more purple looking, especially after 3 coats. It's subtle though.

Yes, then I'm not crazy, I am seeing
Purple (3 coats). Still can't decide if
I like or love this wax. BTW, if anyone is interested in venturing to the dark side, Zymol sells "panel pot" sets of 3 different waxes there website for 100 or 200 dollars, depending on the wax. I think you get three 2 ounce samples. A nice way to try some expensive wax........
Nobody likes Zymol here????

I wondering what everyone considers their favorite paste wax on looks alone. I've only tried a few, as a container lasts me a pretty long time and I'm not really a collector. I know we all have tried at least a few, and I'm wondering if any stand out to each of you. I've been using P21S 100% for years, so I guess that would be my favorite. What's yours?

Souveran Paste from Pinnacle :props:

....best, all around - day to day, without dropping the big, big bucks,...
Meguiar's ultimate for the polymer & Pinnacle Souveran for carnuba. can't beat 'em

Reviving an old thread, I would say my favorites are:

AF Spirit, AF Illusion, BL Synergy, #845, BFMS (dark colors only) Fuzion, SSII (great value)

Best wax is this. I have been using it since I was 13 I'm now 27 (but feel 18) :cruisin:

What can I say? They like it... :dunno: :D

Meguiar's Ultimate Wax for me or Opti Coat. Meguiar's seems to be coming out with a coating too...

Wow! This is a fun thread for me. 1st of all, sorry for the long thread in advance.

I like trying several different waxes and then doing side-by-side comparos. Fun stuff especially when you can actually see the difference. I know maybe there are many people on this site and thread that think I may be full of BS, however, I highly recommend you guys try comparos to see if I am full of BS.

Additionally, the waxes I like may not be the ones you like. You might see the wax differently from the way I see them.

The best way to see if you are on the right track is get an opinion from someone that has very little experience in detailing. Why is that? Because beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I usually get a few of the women that work for me to give me an opinion. Women are SUPERIOR to men when it comes to details and they have SUPERIOR taste in picking out beauty than guys do. Guys are simpletons women are complicated and they have a great knack in details.

That being said, I have 2 waxes that are my favorite. Additionally, these are from the opinions of my female workers, friends and me.

I will not name the ones I did not like as I do not want to cause a stink. The price ranges from the $20's to near $200.

The 2 that I like the best are: Dodo Juice Supernatural Wax and Chemical Guys Celeste Dettaglio.

They lay on thin with a DA and they are the wait for drying wax. The beading and sheeting is 2nd to none. I really could not tell the difference between the 2 on a black car.

I will be trying out a couple more and will give my opinions on them too.

I hope this helps and sorry for the long thread if no one wants to read this....
