Hey guys, just wanted to quickly share an experience I had today. I haven’t been in the detailing business for all that long, so this may be old news to many of you, but was a new experience to me.

This morning I did a job on a 2015 Kia Sorento. The rear wheel wells where covered with a layer of styrofoam. I understand this is for noise dampening, and have worked with quite a few vehicles with carpet/fabric rear wells, but this styrofoam was new to me.

It wouldn’t be so bad, but the way I found out was power washing the rear wells and noticed that some of the styrofoam chipped off and exposed the white layer underneath. Lol. It was an easy fix with. A bit of black carpet dye, but could turn into a disaster if someone unknowingly went at it with super high pressure or an aggressive washer nozzle .

Wow... Good to know. I wonder how much they saved vs felt.

Thanks for the tip! Good to know! Appreciate you posting this info!
