So, just curious, in everyones opinion, whats your favorite glaze to use?

I have a friends car I am working on, and he only has minor minor tiny scratches everywhere, no where needing a full polish, we both agree a glaze will be ideal, but we don't know which one...

CG Blacklight comes to mind, any others good out there?
 
I have used Chemical Guys Wet Mirror finish to good effect before
 
I've used XMT Carnauba Finishing Glaze on a black Solstice and the results were pretty amazing. The paint was in very good condition (I think it had less than 15k on it at the time) and just needed light polishing to remove some stage-1 water spots. I polished with XMT Fine Swirl Remover #2 and then finished with the XMT glaze. The results were pretty amazing: Mile-Deep gloss that left the owner almost speechless. He had his wife come out to look at the hood halfway through the job so she could see the side-by-side and she was also quite impressed.
 
Black Light is a good choice, and if you already have it I would stop there. Take a look at the results achieved in this thread:

Other than Black Light, I would seriously consider either Prima Amigo or PB's Black Hole/White Diamond (if the car's color is on the light side).

just make sure to clean the paint by removing any old coats of wax by first clay bar then paint cleaner then go ahead with the CG blacklight
 
I'm not a big user of glazes so my experience is somewhat limited.

I have used PoorBoy's World Black Hole and White Diamond. I was very impressed with there ease of use and results...

Wet Glaze 2.0. Can be applied before and/or after LSP. I apply Collinite 845 over it to lock it in.
 
Ha, I just realized in my thread title I used "you're" instead of "your" chalk that up to writing a post around midnight after a long day! hahahaha

I do have some Blacklight on hand(very tiny amount that was given to me), and their store is only about 20 min away from me if I need more. The results in that thread are pretty stunning. I could use Blacklight/V7 combo, then add a coat or two of UPGP keep it looking good for a few months for him.....
 
I have only used EZ Creme Glaze. It has worked very good and I do expect the other CG glazes to work even better.
 
Poor Bous black hole glaze is my favorite glaze for dark colors. Works great even on reds and grays.

Bobby - I've learned a lot from your posts and always enjoy your insight. I find you to be a very knowledgeable poster. I'm curious though, why you don't have a lot of experience with Glaze? Do you not find it useful?

I've never used it, but have considered it.

This I'm curious about. Will there be any issuses with UPGP bonding correctly if its applied AFTER a glaze? I've heard UPGP does NOT play nice when used OVER other products.

I'm willing to try it and so is he, so we'll see. I'll remember to update the thread with results, however I personally have used UPGP over XMT 360, which is their AIO that leaves a sealant behind, and it played nicely over that....for what it's worth

Glad to hear this...I just ordered some. The Black Hole is BOGO right now..
 
I guess Black Hole and White Diamond are essentially the same formula with one tweaked for dark colors and one for white/silver. I use Duragloss products so 601 is always present as it is the bonding agent for Duragloss polishes and sealants. I ordered White Diamond but before using it I emailed Duragloss about White Diamond glaze over my white paint and they said a glaze might interfere with the bonding agent. I told them the paint was an expensive option paint called "Diamond White" and was on a brand new Mercedes. They said a glaze on such a new paint would not be necessary anyway.

I'm sure PoorBoy's LSPs would do well with the glaze since they are in the same family. I also believe the White Diamond glaze would go well with most any LSP, even Duragloss LSPs such as their 105 and 111, however, it appears it is the 601 bonding agent that presents the problem for compatibility. I was thinking of using 111 without the bonding agent over the glaze as an experiment but since the paint is perfect there is no reason for the glaze in the first place (according to Duragloss). Plus, I think the 601 really adds to the performance of any Duragloss product. I'm just throwing out what Duragloss told me about the glaze for whatever it is worth.
 
While the Blacklight/V7 Combo is very good, it is not a "Glaze" because it has no filling agents in it. It is however a great AIO Sealant with a DA/Rotary as it is a sealer with mild abrasives in it, or just a sealer if applied by hand. :props:

That being said, my go to glaze(if I had to use one because the clear/paint was to thin to polish out light swirls or micro-marring left by someone else) would be CG EZ Creme Glaze.

I would like to try some CG Glossworks Glaze, but it isnt available in the USA. :awman:

I thought Blacklight had fillers. rwright had a thread showing a before and after of using Blacklight with a tremendous difference.

Glossworks Glaze is available in the USA. Just call CG and tell them you want it. For some reason they don't have it on their site.

Blacklight has some light polishing capabilities but no fillers. The combo sure looks great on good paint though!!:props:
