GT-R was in pretty rough shape after some poor bodyshop work, and the owner wanted it looking proper again. 3 steps of corrective work and 28hrs later it was looking as it should.

Not sure what these spots were, but they would not wash or clay off.

Typical bodyshop work....crank up the rotary buffer with a wool pad and dry-buff the paint.....sigh....

BassemsGT-R13.jpg

Plenty of swirls in the soft GT-R paint

50/50 on the hood

After a quick 50/50 for a side-by-side comparison

Bumper didn't have as many swirls, but the RIDS were extensive and required heavy compounding to level out.

BassemsGT-R34.jpg

After heavy compounding the defects were all removed. The haze from aggressive compounding would be eliminated with several polishing steps to restore the gloss

Rear deck and spoiler needed a lot of work....

50/50 after initial compounding on the rear spoiler. More work was to follow to eliminate even more defects....

Clarity restored and final polishing to come in order to amp the gloss up further

Some buffer-hop marks? Sure why not....the bodyshop is just batting a thousand

BassemsGT-R56.jpg

How about some severe overspray? Yep that was there too.

After compounding, hope returns

Thanks for checking it out!

That &$@? looks amazing. I feel like jumping into a pool of GT-R. Great results and thanks for sharing. On a side note what kind of light is that, halogen, led or floursent. What products and equipment did you use if you not mind me asking.

That car looks amazing afterward!

I can't imagine how it became to look the way it did when you got it.

What a good polishing can do to a great car ! Congrats on the work done !

Thank you! 1000w halogen light. I use the staple Megs products, menzerna, HD, etc... Rupes, Meguiars, GG machines, my rotaries.... too much to list.

Black looks SO AWESOME when done properly! But alas it is a full time job to keep it looking good.

From beater to show quality, truly stunning work.

Gotta love it when a body shop can't produce on a $100,000 black car.

That look amazing...! Wook, so a great job done on that car..! Amazing!

Get the email address of the body shop and send a link to this thread.

Beautifully done. That's the reason I wrapped mine in a full PPF satin bra. You look at that black paint and it starts to swirl

Excuse me for saying this but Holy Crap!! What a difference. That's beautiful. This owner must have been amazed.

Excellent work and results. It amazes me how poorly some people take care of their vehicles, to allow it to get so bad.
