Yup, the Duetto works great with the washer mod. I think it is my favorite polisher out of the Rupes line.

It's very balanced, quiet, easy to "steer," and has zero vibration when used with genuine Rupes pads.
 
So I am really having a hard time between the duetto or the LHR15. Unfortunately up here in Canada Rupes is not that high in demand yet, so I do not have the option of trying them out. Washer mod will be done.

I am really making my decision based on forum reading and my personal thought process, which is not always right on the first try. But because I cannot return it, I am kind of stuck.

I have two cars, Kia Forte sedan and a Kia Sorento SUV, both ebony black! I will be using Rupes pads and product and will only have this polisher, no 3-4" option as I got rid of the 7424. I figure if I buy all 4 pads, and all 4 polishes, I should be able to tackle anything I have presented to me as I will probably do a few cars on the side.

Now basing this on this being my only polisher, what do you recommend? Try to help me sell one than the other. I like the idea of the 15mm throw for tougher jobs but like the compactness and ease of use of the duetto.

Recommendations? I was using a gen 1 7424 so anything will be an upgrade but anyone with the 15 and the duetto, any input?

This should help. The Duetto SMOKED the GG 6" polisher.

I haven't heard of anyone having to do the washer-mod on any of the, what has been labeled: RUPES knock-offs...
CHUPES...I believe swanicyouth called them.

Have these knock-offs been "reversed engineered" to the point where: The difference in the potential, efficient work from their polisher-motors---having nearly twice the mechanical [hp(I)], and electrical [hp(E)] horsepower---has eliminated the washer-modding altogether?

Then there's:
-The rumor-mill has suggested that Griot's Garage may become a CHUPES reseller.
With the price of their knock-off version of the PC...The GG 6"...being that it is...
It may bode well to directly obtain one of the CHUPES from its manufacturer(s)...for <$100...before they become one of the must-haves at a substantial increase in price. Marketing is usually one of the increase-in-price drivers.


Speaking of "drivers":
-I usually don't do "knock-offs".
But I have a knock-off version of a ZR1.
It has 100 more potential, efficient horsepower...
at less than half a ZR1's price.

It just explains why few polishers are made in the USA. Most choose by price and all that goes with that.
 
Just picked up a rupes 15lhr, get it Tuesday cant wait to try it out!!

Can I get a little more info on the washer mod. Does it take a special washer or something I can go buy at the hardware store? Does it go on just like the fiber washer on the PC? Thanks
