I invested in an AutoBrite Foam Cannon + 5 litres of AutoBrite Magifoam and Auto Finesse Avalanche. My ZL1 is a daily driver, but I wash it every weekend. It doesn't get overly dirty. I hit it with my foam cannon, let dwell for 10 minutes, then rinse with a pressure washer. This will leave the car 99% clean. I then use UWW+ as a drying aid and to get the paint slick. Dress the tires. Done!

On a side note, I use the foam cannon through CR Spotless DI water. This makes a big difference in the thickness of foam compared to regular city water. I have a gas pressure washer which helps, too.

I've found that a coated car can actually wash almost totally clean with a foam cannon-citrus presoak. Just rinse, and hit it with your favorite waterless wash as you did. Yes, the buckets can go...unless the car is not maintained regularly.

Do you still properly clean your tires before dressing them? I can see the paint and wheels getting clean but the tires get grime, tar, oils, etc. from driving around that aren't so easily cleaned.

:iagree:

Absolutely. While the foam is dwelling on the tire, I can see dirt releasing off the tire, so I'll scrub them with my tire brush and they come out clean enough to re-dress.

Hi Mark...

Just curious:
What LSP is on the ZL1?
Thanks.

I read your reply in the email notification; you deleted it...lol

Anyhow, I never mentioned anything about waterless. My point of the thread is this method is much easier and quicker than 2-buckets.

Mark...

I meant to ask this in my earlier post:
Why does car-wash-shampoos' Foam (even just a handful):
Kill crickets so quickly?

Might work for a garage queen but not a daily driver. I'll stick to two buckets.
Does your zl1 have a 5.0 in it? Lol

i don't see myself getting rid of the buckets anytime soon, depending on the weather it will vary on how easily the dirt/contamination will come off easily or not from what's left behind...

ZL1 daily driver. I am jealous. 6.2 liters iirc to answer previous post question.

If its a daily drive now way you can only do foam cannon. Unless you wash it every few days.

Hey Mark,

Thanks for sharing your technique! :props:

Hope you're enjoying your new ZL1!!
