The Junkman lives here! I'm new to this forum and the world of actually not doing more harm than good when trying to keep my car clean. I had no clue. Anyway, I just wanted to give a big shout-out to Junkman for taking time out of his day today to show me how to get started on taking care of my paint. It's funny, I was watching some of his vids and saw that he had Louisville tags and his car and decided to see if he was a member here. I PMed him and he was kind enough to invite over to his place a show me some techniques. I now have a 2x2 foot area of my hood that looks awesome. Now it's my turn. Thanks Junkman!

That's a really cool story! I am a Junkman fan as well, except I am in LA, CA. However I always watch his videos.

How bout being the home of the 2013 Men's NCAA National Champions? Or how's about the reigning Sugar bowl Champions? Finally, the humidity. The humidity is awesome too.

LUCKY SB champs, should of been 49ers vs broncos

Very nice of him to offer you instruction. No doubt he he will help you along should you come across a problem. Nice guy!

Yeah, all of that too. And the baseball team went to the college World Series as well. I'm a Cats fan, though. But even I have to admit that Jurich has got it going on here in the Ville. As far as the weather, we've had a pretty good summer over all, but yeah, the humidity is pretty bad here. Last year was brutal, though.

He is a hell of a nice guy.
^^^YES!!...The Junkman is one fine fellow!!^^^

He drove down from Louisville, Ky. to once again provide on-site, hands-on, detailing-training.
Glad I had the opportunity to meet, and speak with him in person.

Louisville...
-We enjoy going to the Derby
-Just a short hop over to Elizabethtown for dinner at Texas Outlaw
-Joyful jaunt for Jellybeans in Bardstown
-Nice excursion to Rupp Arena
-Bustling down to Bowling Green, makes for a nice weekend "mini-vacation".

:)

I love living in Louisville as well. The humidity can be killer at times. There are a few professional detailers that cruise the forums from around this area.

Road trip! :xyxthumbs:

You know, I lived in SoCal for 10 years back in the 80's. Had a blast while I was out there. I can't handle that traffic now but I'll never forget my days in SoCal. It seemed like it never rained while I was there. Tony, Toni, Tone even made a song about it. :D

I've been a die hard Cardinal fan since the 70's. I remember both championships from the 80's but this last one is ultra sweet. I believe in supporting my Cardinals and a road trip to support my Cards ain't nothing but a fill up!

It was a pleasure hanging out with the OP, Gavin. I was able to show him what it would take to get his paint in shape. His car was not really too bad, just enough for a novice to tackle. Here's what he's looking at.

Here some after photos of my test spot. This was done with the PC-7424XP while he watched.

So as you can see, he has his work cut out for him but I have shown him that it is very doable. Working outdoors will definitely not be something he should do with all the heat and humidity we have in Kentucky but he's going to start watching my videos and learn the right way to get his baby in shape. :xyxthumbs:

You are very lucky to meet and get instructions from Junkman. From what I see in his videos and some of the exchanges I've read and had with him on this forum I can say he seems like a very funny guy. I'm looking for a good excuse to need to go to Louisville just to meet and hang with him on the town one day. LOL

BTW: didn't Clyde Frazier come out of Louisville?

Awesome story! Always nice to hear there is a good community going on around here. I've watched Junkman's videos. Informative and funny at the same time :props:

Thanks again, Junkman. Now the real work begins. I'd probably never get started if I didn't have your advice to look at the job as a panel by panel deal instead of trying to get it all done in one whack. Now I apparently need to buy about 80 microfiber towels. :buffing:

Bring FOOD. :D

No Clyde from Louisville that I know of.

I love driving through Kentucky to get to the Tail of the Dragon, LOL!

I love Junkman! Although I don't agree with everything he says about wax. He is a top notch guy, and you should bug him to teach you stuff.
