Also I like the part you say you're glad you're not a cop. Just what we need cops profiling cars bc of their personal distaste for tints. There's gotta be better ways to spend your time than pulling ppl over just to check tint levels.
:iagree: heck the guys got a huge bomb explosion as his avatar, obviously an explosive compulsive person. I agree, I'm gald he's not a cop either. Lucky for us he probably couldn't pass the psyche evals.

Question about 'tinted'...how is the night vision? I'm not meaning while 'in town', but when you are away from all the city lights?
I know just with factory tinted, dark freeways at night can be frustrating at times.

it also lets non thieves or by-passers get a glimpse of what you have and turn them into thieves
Anyway, I've been in vehicles with dark tinted windows and at night you can't see anything. I didn't like that.

I've never had a problem on freeways side windows hardly matter if you clear enough ahead of you the only time you should be looking out of your side windows is to check your mirrors.
Won't even try to argue against that because yes there are times when I've made turns at night and couldn't see out the side window to check. But like af90 said if you check out your windshield you should be able to see enough.
I don't do very much driving at night, but when I do, I sometimes roll the windows down if the area is extra dark.

Exactly my thoughts. We already have enough police going around playing God and taking advantage of our rights.
WTF?? No law-abiding citizen is going to break your window and steal something out of your car because they could look inside because you didn't have tint.
Ha ha, I remember the first time I was in a car with aftermarket tint--a friend of mine had his front side windows done (which is illegal here in NJ). So he picks me up one evening, and as he's backing out of my driveway I look to the side, and as noted, I can't see anything. I mention this to him, and he says he can see out the sides if he rolls down the windows, and I think to myself "um...it's winter...".
Later he tried to get through inspection by going with the windows rolled down, but they made him roll up the windows and failed him, so he took the tint off.
Just to play Devil's advocate...traffic stops are generally the most dangerous part of police work. The reason they don't like tint is because they want to be able to see if someone they are approaching on a "routine" stop is about to shoot them, etc. People who are fugitives, have outstanding warrants or have contraband in the car that they know is going to send them to jail will do some pretty crazy things if they are pulled over...talk to any LEO.
Some of you guys are in NJ, but probably aren't old enough to remember Trooper Lamonico (I hope I'm spelling that name right) who, on a "routine" speeding stop on Rt. 80 unknowingly pulled over two Weather Underground members on the FBI most-wanted list. They shot him as he exited his car, then went over and pulled up his vest and killed him with his own weapon. Anyway, that's the kind of thing cops think about when they approach a car they can's see in.
Stepping down from soapbox.
