Need the right wax

Ok guys, I'm fairly new to the more professional side of the detailing world im doing a few vehicles here soon and all three the paint is in very good condition. But has spiderweb swilrs things like that. I had decided I would use the mequiars mirror glaze 205 I am still open to ideas there also. But I would really like to find a wax the going to make the paint POP help me PLEASE lol Feed back please
 
Well you get all your gloss and clarity through polishing the paint. Depending on how bad the defects are you may need something more aggressive than M205.

As for the wax to add protection there are two categories Paint sealants and Carnuba waxes. With the sealants you will find that protection life will be much longer than that or a Carnuba wax. Sealants would be 4-6 months while Carnuba waxes will be 1-2 months. Now you can top a wax over a sealant to add another layer to you protection.

Sealants that are great are:
Blackfire Wet Diamond Paint Sealant
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint sealant 3.0
Chemical Guys Jet seal 109
Collinite 845

Carnuba waxes:
Blackfire Midnight sun
Wolfgang Fuzion
Pinnacle Souveran
DP Maxx wax
Collinite 476 and 915
Chemical Guys Petes 53

You're right on the money there! Everything says best gloss best removal but what really works?
I own a cyclo orbital polisher using the blue pads I used meguiars ultimate polish in the black bottle. Its obviously VERY mild I'm sure but it did get a lot of the swirls out the paint. I don't know if that gives you any idea the condition of the paint. I was hoping that maybe there were a SLIGHLTY more aggressive to get the heavier swirls out.

If i were you I would go with Ultimate Compound (UC) followed but the Ultimate Polish (UP) then go with your choice of sealant.

If the UP removed a lot but not everything the step up to UC that should get you better cut with better removal of the defects then follow up with the UP.
 
do you think I could choose a better polish or compound? the bottle of polish I used was a small sample size so I am going to have to order products before I do want to know what I am getting ya know?

I was trying or thinking of using the collinite insulator wax and their marque d' elegance wax but I was just going by the description and I know ive read a lot of reviews on the insulator wax its supposed to be unmatched but nothing about whether it provides gloss. Im sorry but there is nothing better than have a car that shines so well people hve to notice :)

Then I apply CG'S EZ Cream Glaze. (Oh Yeah)
Griot's Paint Sealant then top it with Meg's GoldClass paste wax.

Works great for me:)
 
If you don't plan on claying and polishing the paint prior to the wax (ie. protection) then consider an AIO product. These products have paint cleansers and polishes in them that will at least help to bring the finish back and remove oxidation.
 
Ok I've got another question for you when using (in my case cyclo orbital) whether compound polish wax sealant can you use to much product I notices the last time I worked on polishing that I had soaked all the way throught the pad with product is it possible to use to much? I also use mike's prime the pad technique with every panel I start should you only do that once?

Yea CG'S has been quite my addiction lately I do have the EZ creme glaze I do love it myself :)

You need to only prime the pad once. Make sure you are cleaning you pads often or changing them. You do not want them to get soaked and loaded with product.

After priming the pad you need to only use 4-5 pea sized drops of product.

Most of us (i think) have a dedicated pad just for waxing so we tend to leave that on be.
 
Yea I always clay bar before I start (griots garage yello clay bar) seems to work really well

I also don't prime wax or sealants you're not working the product merely spreading it evenly.

Ok so I've for sure been using to much product then :/ I'm not doing any large vehicles more compact or mid size so I figured one set of pads per vehicle would be sufficient that was a huge help there thanks!! Good to know when I go to do it again
 
I wouldn't go over a whole car with one pad either. Too much product, clear coat can just load up the pad and you lose cut when the pad gets saturated. Usually 2-3 pads per polishing step. Some even use more.

The more pads you have the easier it is as you con keep switching to a new pad that is fresh so it doesn't get over loaded.

Also a note on over loaded pads, when your pads are loaded up they will start to generate a lot of heat and heat is bad. all the heat can cause the pad to delaminate from the velcro backing which is a bad thing.
