I purchased optimum car wash with my last order to try out a different soap. I haven't wrote any reviews for the stuff I bought but I was so impressed with the results of this product I had to give a little review...The cost wasn't that bad and the smell was really nice even my daughter kept smelling the bucket. It made a lot of suds with only 3oz used and with the results I got this is now gonna be my go to car wash soap...I took only one picture but I couldn't believe how good it looked just from a wash.

It cost $29.99 for the gallon

Duragloss 901 is $26.99 for the gallon

$3 difference is not really that much. IMO

I am going with the optimum on my next order. Unless someone has anything better?

I've read that you can even use .5 of an ounce of the optimum.

On the AG site it says a 32 oz bottle can last up to 7 months.

So would that mean the gallon can last 28 months? (Give or take)

I bought the 32oz bottle...my car is just a weekend nice weather sometimes go to the drag strip car that other wise is garaged so it never really gets dirty and I don't wash it every weekend so this bottle will last me a while...price don't bother me that much but I have never washed my car and been this impressed by just a soap

Great review OP.
OPT along with Ultima paint guard are very underrated car wash soaps. Both have a very refreshing scent as well.

I use .5 oz/gal with the DG. I haven't gotten to try my Optimum wash yet, looks like about 2017.

I've often wondered how car care companies can get away with making so many yummy smelling chemicals. This must be the only industry that's not afraid of lawyers. God bless 'em.

So True, I briefly thought a detailfest contest to blindly identify products based on smell would be a good idea, then I thought better of it.

My son is young enough that I can keep chemicals out of reach, but I will soon have to put them under lock and key and add mr. yuk stickers.

Back on topic....I've only used my OPT car wash once and liked it a lot, but my go to washes are still CG CW&G or DG901.

I purchased the CG CW&G also just tried this one first

Optimum wash (as well as most every Optimum product) is a must-have and considered top tier !

It is a shame but the Car Wash is often forgotten or overlooked in favour of ONR. Whilst ONR is my default shampoo the Car Wash is a rather nice, mild product which simply does the job without any fuss or internet hype

I had the ONR but honestly it streaked more than I wanted. I would have to go back and use a quick detailer mixture and a new rag to wipe them off.

I swapped to BlackFires No Rinse and don't think I'll ever look back.

It's the same concept, but I think it streaks less and has better lubrocation. And shines a lot better.

Both products tell you to go back and use a final wipe down to help with the streaking. But I just feel like the BF is better. And IMO it smells better

Same price if you buy it in a gallon I think.

Great, thanks a lot guys, now I have to add another optimum product to the cart since it's on sale.

What are your opinions on using the Optimum Car Wash with a pressure washer attached to a foam gun/canon like the Gilmour 95?

EDIT: SHEESH, THIS OLD THREAD WAS BUMPED! OOPS.

Optimum car wash has been my go to for almost as long as i've been on this forum. a gallon container with the pump attachment always has its own permanent spot in my garage, haha. i used to use the gallon size of the Duragloss red stuff back in the day but once i stumbled on OPT after coming around here, i stuck with it. i love it, but i don't particularly know of a reason to use it over, say, Duragloss car wash! i switched to OPT because of how everything played nice with each other within the line and didn't have a reason to switch back. both products are good.

my water supply is temp controlled and treated through a dual tank neut/softener sys, but i still throw an ounce or so of ONR into my wash bucket for good measure.

Anyone have experience with both the Optimum car wash & Duragloss and can share differences, pros, cons and why you use one over the other?

i actually just posted about this last night, haha.

i've used both. both are great. i stuck with Optimum car wash several years ago over Duragloss 902 mainly because OPT said their stuff plays so nicely together and i was (and still am) using mainly OPT products. back then it was Opti-Seal and OCW in terms of LSP, now it's the coatings.

but 902 is fine.

Yes indeed you did and helpful, just hoping for some more experiences with both products.
