Just browsing some peoples websites to get ideas on the packages they offer and pricing.

For the basic "wash and wax" is everyone doing an AIO or a dedicated wax only (and hopefully up selling to paint correction? since this wouldn't actually fix the paint obviously)?

Just wondering what everyone is distinguishing as a basic cheap wax job as I could see an AIO being worth more because of the potential of an affordable paint correction for those who don't want to pay for a multi-step job.

I do a sealant not a wax because I live in seattle and a sealant is better suited for here. If they want a wax on top of the sealant I charge another $25. I don't using AIO much but have been thinking of adding a package with one.

I'd say a wash and wax is more of a maintenance wash and I use a spray wax / sealant to top (again)? A AIO is better applied by machine in my opinion to have any real filling happen.

For just a wash I think a spray wax (sealant) is the way to go. It's quick to do and is unexpensive. I don't think someone wanting to pay for a wash will like the price of the 1 step added on top. Unless that is what they came for and the wash was a needed prep for it of course.

For just wash jobs I use ONR with wax. If they are wanting it waxed after the wash I will use Optimum Car Wax unless they want to pay for something else. OCW can be applied to a car in less than 10 minutes and looks great.

^ this is why I was looking for a spray wax. And I most likely go with the optimum line. Thanks Guys.

This is a great topic!

Do you guys still apply a normal wax with a buffer if you aren't using an AIO wax?

I was just figuring on using Megs D151 AIO as my "go to" if someone just wants their car washed and waxed. Or is that total overkill?

If they pay for it I will machine apply a wax. For my basic wash and wax package I just use a spray wax. Quick, easy, and cheap. I personally wouldn't put D151 in a wash and wax package. I use D151 in my middle tier package, it is still cheap and easy, doesn't take too long..a lot of bang for the buck IMO.

I use DG 501/601 for wash and wax. DG 501 is a sealant and paint cleaner. It cleans very well and last 4-6 months. I like to use it for the wash and wax pkg because the light swirl removal and cleaning ability give a nice gloss and shine and the durability is excellent for an AIO. Plus it is very inexpensive and very easy on and off.

I use OCW for an after wash wax, GPS for machine applied AIO. OCW is just too easy to use and takes so little time and IME, dust and dirt don't cling to it as much as other waxes I've used so the customer's car looks great longer.

Like Mike Phillips states, "match your services to your client or market." Find out what the customer expects and is willing to pay for. It all comes down to educating your customer about what each service level will provide. If they don't care about the swirls in their paint or are unwilling to pay for that service, there's nothing wrong with using a spray wax. Time is money.

Hard to beat DG 501/601 combo for cleaning ability. You haven't cleaned your paint until you've tried that product. It's also very durable and easy to use as an AIO.

How much is everyone charging for their basic wash and wax package then? State if you use a spray way, or apply by machine.

How do you word your AIO package as it's not really wax since you're able to do paint correction?
