What is a good OTC Last Step Product for a white car?

Tried Light Fantastic and Triple XXX Hardcore from Chemical guys on top of Collinite 476. Couldn't tell one from the other side by side, although they both improved the appearance of the car.

Sure, I could get some P21 or any number of esoteric mail order products (although I would NEVER pay some of the prices I see)_ But you know what? I just don't care all that much. My routine is to prep the car, wax with Collinite, add a beauty wax, and then Duragloss Aquawax spray wax.

After that, rinseless washes with spray wax and maybe redo the beauty wax after a couple of months and then a couple of months after that start all over.

The main goal would be something that won't mess up the durability of the Collinite, be easy to apply, shiny, and available at the local auto supply houses. It wouldn't have to super durable, just a normal carnauba like durability. But it can be synthetic, for all I care.

I'm thinking Meg's Ultimate, but maybe all that synthetic stuff would undo the Collinite.

Any suggestions?

You should be laying down you synthetic sealants then your waxes like Collinite 476.

Why? The Collinite seems about as tough as it can be---Why lay it down on a foundation of sand, relatively speaking? I know it calls itself a 'wax' but I can attest that it has plenty of weird chemicals in it. I left the top ajar overnight in the garage after I was done and I thought an animal had died in there--I'm not being facetious, either. I smelled exactly like a dead rat.

Anyway, what easily obtained (OTC) LSP, if any, would improve its appearance without degrading its durability?

I know this thread is a little old, but Carquest auto stores carry Duragloss products. DG105 is a phenomenal product and is very affordable. You can also try DG101 which is a pure sealant. Both 101 or 105 will last longer than any otc wax.

Well...

Over the counter supplies I would stick with Megs products as they are available just about anyplace.

You mentioned Ultimate Wax, it's a great product, full synthetic and very easy to work with.

You could stick with the Ultimate line:

Ultimate Compound
Ultimate Polish
Ultimate Wax
Ultimate Quick Detailer
Ultimate Quick Wax

And your car will look great. :xyxthumbs:

This is my 06 White Jeep, all Megs products:

Paint Correction done with a DA Polisher and M105 and M205.

LSP is Ultimate Wax.

You seem like you already have a good lsp and you touch it up with aquawax so I don't think you should change your routine.

You have your reason(s) for wanting "to top": the Collinite.

So...If not Meguiar's "to top" ...
Then: Get rid of the Collinite and go with Liquid Glass.

:)

I like the Mothers and Megs waxes for LSP. They work well and if you use a machine to buff it off then the Synthetic Megs ultimate wax is always a good choice. These are cheap and easy to find and replace.
