To Coat Or Not Coat - That's The Question

I understand that and in most cases I would agree with you. But because this is my hobby, I enjoy the time and in fact look forward to it. Still thinking coatings are more to the "set it and forget camp." If and when I stop playing with my paint every weekend, I probably would dive right in with one of these great coating products.
There are many ttoppers that enhance the Lotus effect of coatings. IME anything else degrades the properties of the coating. There are Reload, SONAX Polymer Net Shield, Permanon , Hydro and others. These will satisfy your need to tinker and keep the coatings fantastic properties intact. I use Finest and Opti coat Pro and do other's vechicles when I need a fix. I tinker with the many toppers on my own vehicles.

bump. Love to hear peoples opinions on coatings!

I just ordered the DP coating last night. Going to apply it to the girlfriends jeep wrangler. Couple questions:
Should I apply it over too of decals? She has oscar mike stickers from the factory on her hood and one near the rear.
What's a good applicator for coatings? I don't wanna have to throw away a foam pad after every use. I have a foam carpro block used to apply flyby30. I was thinking of wrapping something around it to apply the coating with that way I could discard it after and reuse the foam block. I've also heard those cotton makeup things work well.
