Hi Mike and AGs,

I've a set of WG Füzion Estate Wax Connoisseur’s Kit on the way to me. Kit comes with the WG Paintwork Polish Enhancer which I would like to use before topping off with Collinite 845 followed by WG Fuzion.

My car has a coating of ceramic/glass sealant. I would like to do a proper surface prep with the WG Cleanser but will this product strip off my glass coating? Klasse AIO and WG Cleanser both do not contain abrasives so is it safe to assume that the glass coating will not be affected?

Thanks for your time folks!

Cheers!

Paint cleansing lotions will remove sealants and waxes, but coatings ....well I would also think you need an abrasive since they are so durable. Perhaps a light polishing first would be the best choice.

The first question is why would you put all the stuff on top of a coating? Why even have the coating if you are going to radically change its characteristics and thus its benefits?

I think coatings are a waste of money if they are topped. They still degrade whether topped or not. Layering is not something where the layers degrade from the top down in sequence. They degrade as soon as they are applied all together at once no matter how many layers if different products are applied. Waxes degrade faster than sealants and sealants degrade faster than coatings...so the layers are worn off in whatever their individual life spans are.

Frankly you should not be concerned about removing the coating because its advantages won't be realized if topped with waxes or sealants.

Maybe he misses waxing his car? Just a thought.

I have a feeling this guy is talking about some dealership coating.....

-How do you know, what I'll call an alleged fact, to indeed be true...
Do you have the MSDS for these two products?

-How does these two products "clean"?
What's the difference (if any) between chemical-levelers and abrasives?

-Is the ceramic/glass sealant on your vehicle a (as is usually defined): 'Coating'?

-To what extent (if any)...
Would solvent (chemical) cleaners' hydrocarbons adversely affect a ceramic/glass sealant...
even if that sealant is said, or proven, to be a: 'Coating'?

Yeah, I read about DP's paint coating review and assumed that since an abrasive is required to remove glass/ceramic coatings so I reckon paint cleansers with no abrasives shouldn't remove the coating.

Thanks buddy!

I see, I read in AG that a layer of carnauba wax on top of a sealant will bring out a nice, warm shine so wanted to have a go at it. The sealant is the long term protection, say, maybe 4-6 months? The wax is just to bring out that shine hehehehe.....

What glass coating do you have? And any polishing will remove it.

I'm in Singapore, the glass coating is done by a professional detailer. He said that machine buffing with abrasives will remove it.

Hi Bob,

That's what I wanted to find out. I reckon glass 'coating' would be like what the DP's paint coating, nano-ceramic? According to the detailer, he said there's a thickness measureed in some kinda index which I cannot recall.

As for Kalsse AIO and WG Cleanser, what I read in AG's product page says they do not contain abrasives. Hehehehe....maybe you're right, could be a claim(alleged fact).
