which wax for white car?

Double post: (sorry )

I like the topping option, a sealant topped with a carnauba.

It adds a nice amount of protection and shine.

My Menzerna Power Lock added both shine and protection however :)

I have seen good things with meg's white wax. I used the klasse twins on my white car. It also looks great.

Polish the paint perfectly and it shouldn't matter what wax you apply, they'll all look very similar. I don't see any point in paying more than $20 for any wax..

Guys,,have anyone tried ultima paint guard plus over an oily abrasive pre wax cleanser like Dodo Juice Lime Prime?

Can 3 coats of UPGP give the depth and gloss of a carnauba wax on a white color?

If I top up the UPGP with a Carnauba wax like CG Pete's 53,,does the slick look of UPGP vanishes?

Prep is key but I do pay a bit more for my LSP's but nothing too crazy! I suggest DG #111 on white as it really "pops" which is all your ever going to be able to do with white.

Most I've ever paid was collinite 915 at roughly $30. Don't see any need to pay more than that unless it's a coating.
111 looks great on my white car but so do all the DG sealants!

Can u guys please post a pic of DG 111 applied on a white car if u have tried that?

DG 111 on my "Diamond White" ML350. Prepared the paint with P21S Paintwork Cleanser then a two coats of 111/601 (one coat would have been just as good). Sorry for the poor photos and click on them to enlarge.

Don't have many pics. It looks super, super glossy. Almost glass like under low lighting.

I have a white car and used the Megs White wax a few times. Its ok, nothing big nothing small, just ok. I wouldn't purchase it again. With that being said, I would like to buy the Black wax,..lol

Thanks...Can DG 111 be topped up with another paste wax?

Yes. Since those photos were taken of my ML with only 111, I have done a few more details where I striped the 111, reapplied it fresh with the 601 bonding agent and then used a wax over the 111 base using Griot's 6" electric polisher. The first time I used a wax over 111 was with Collinite 845 and the second time was with Griot's Garage Premium Carnauba Paste Wax. I have also used a spray wax (OCW) as a "topper" when using either of these two waxes. Although I never tried it, I believe applying OCW directly over 111 would be great and you could use it as your wax LSP.

They all looked beautiful but if I had to select one wax to use as an LSP over the 111 it would be 845. Griot's is a richer looking wax but I don't think it is as durable as 845 and you really have to time the haze and cure just right or it is a little difficult to remove. I find the 845 to be easier to work with. As soon as 845 disappears and becomes transparent on the white paint you know you have it thin enough. Maybe it is easier to work with because Griot's is pure Carnauba wax while 845 has always been considered sort of a sealant/wax.

If you like a bright, "candy" look to your white paint with lots of reflection (although some might call it a "sterile" look) you really can't do much better than leaving 111 alone, with the occasional "topper" of AquaWax or CG's V7, which is a product I really like. Lately, I have also had great success using Lucas Slick Mist as a "topper" over 111 after every second or third weekly wash. Slick Mist is very compatible with 111 and is as versatile as AquaWax in that it can be used dry (like a QD or spray wax) or as a drying aid after a rinse. In fact, I do not see much difference at all between it and AquaWax other than the Slick Mist smells like bubble gum - good stuff!
