I Just Witnessed a Car Door Hitting my Car :(

Hahahaha, remember the part where I was too exhausted?

I don't pick favourites, if I had a little more energy I would've gone after her. (realistically, an epic excuse to get her number :D)

These things happen! No matter where you park, there's always this guy! View attachment 22006

I hate that!! I park so far away from cars and come out of a store just to find I need a can opener to get into my car. It drives me insane. People think im nuts because I am always looking for scratches or dents from people parking to close. What can you do?

I don't even drive what many consider a "nice" car ('07 Forester) but I park as far from people as I can and I STILL come out and people are parked on top of me. Heck, I had an argument outside my job this morning because this dope that works across the street. Guy had 10 feet behind his car and parked 6 inches from my bumper and got all pissy when I told him to leave me some room to get out of the spot.

Parking as far away from people is one of things to do - I benefit from their laziness. If I think someone will park next to me, I put on these rubber door guards that stick with magnets. I always get the strange stares putting them on, but I don't care.

That's cool! Do they actually work? Where can I find a product like that?

Yeah, it works. I also have a thick front license plate holder for those close parallel parkers. I've seen it in action a few times - I was crossing the street and the guy keeps backing up til he hit my bumper. The ones for the door are called DoorShox. A little pricey compared to some others but I like them.
For the front, I use BumpShox - the XL.

And the magnets don't scratch the car at all? Have you noticed any marring?

Nope, no scratches or marring at all. The magnets are under the rubber so there's no contact on the paint. Don't think they're sold in stores for you to see in person, though.

I might just order them to see if they actually work. Thanks!
