Hi Justin,

Very nice of you to help out a co-worker.

Sorry to say the the swirls in her car are the norm for the detailing industry. We do our best on this forum to change this via education.

The problem however is unless a detailer gets on a forum like this then all they know is what they teach themselves and the swirls in the co-workers cars are a testimony showing their lack of knowledge.

It takes just as long to do it wrong...

As to your question about which swirl remover and which pads to use, the most important thing is to choose products with known good abrasive technology.

Some guys say the most important factor for getting good results as it relates to doing correction and polishing work on car paint is technique.

I strongly disagree and can prove them wrong any day of the week.

The most important factor as it relates to doing correction and polishing work on car paint is the abrasive technology in the bottle.

If the abrasive technology isn't any good then it doesn't matter how good a person's technique is because it's the abrasives that are being buffed against the paint.

Here's my short list of products with known good abrasive technology...

Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover and Advanced Finishing Polish
Wolfgang Uber Compound, Total Swirl Remover and Finishing Glaze
Sonax Fine Abrasive Paste, Perfect Finish and Nano Polish
Optimum Compound II, Polish II and Finish
Meguiar's M105, M101, M100 and M205
Blackfire SRC Compound and SRC Finishing Polish

If you want to see the results from any of the above options... just look through my write-ups in this forum group.

Also, what type of polisher do you have or were you planning on working by hand?
