Mobile or shop

One isn't better than the other. They are just different. Both have pros and cons depending on your clients, service area, services you want to offer, expansion, etc.

Mobile for the first year or so. get your name out there and build a decent clientele base then move into shop

as for a detailing unit, wagon type car or truck. no need for a huge cargo van. customers can supply water/electricity

Which do yall think is best a mobile detailing business? Or a stationary one?

for stationary you may need a bigger investment and you may wanna look into volume work to cover the expenses.
mobil is easier to access but in states with bad weather it may not be an option.

either way you go with have a realistic business plan before you start.

I do all my work out of my garage and none of my customers mind dropping off their cars. Doing it out of my garage keeps my over head very low and works great for me.

I would recommend doing what you prefer to do. Not sure if one is better than the other.

Does your city have any regulations around a detailing business running out of the garage? I assume you setup an LLC or SP for your business?
