I give you...pure stupidity in the form of washing

Drop the particulates out?
So basically the brush just pushes and moves the dirt around?

That's comforting to know..... NOT!

Yeah pretty much and scratches the paint with whatever is still in the brush.

good god....

i can easily post numerous videos of his. All of them are absurd really. I mean i knew some people didnt know much about washing cars but this guy just takes it to a whole new level

I mean really. Waterless washing with a paper towel huh?

"Save the Ocean"...... Well being a health care clinician I am trained to pick up on subtle signs of habits which may affect the body's ability to heal or heal properly and I can with a high degree of certitude tell you that this guy is a smoker.... so save the Oceans and kill the Ozone layer.

Please someone, send this thread to Al Gore :xyxthumbs:

Al Gore already read this and watched the video... he invented the interwebz!! :props:

I saw his comments too about no scratches. I doubt he has no scratches. I think he thinks we are saying deep, down-to-metal scratches like key scratches. Even the worst method won't do that. It's the ultra fine scratches that cause swirls!

Either way, he's not getting it. He's stuck on the brush. How it's not going to scratch, etc. etc., but it's not about the product, it's the technique! Taking all of that brake dust and filth from the wheels and pushing it around the car...

Interesting. I was thinking to myself that he looks a lot like my uncle (mannerisms, skin tone and color, even voice). My Uncle has been a smoker for 30+ years.

It was everything I had to resist yelling "NO! STOP!" when he took that fresh-from-the-brake-dust rag RIGHT to the paint...

The waterless wash video is absolutely stupid, but the guy does have a point about pollution that is completely valid.

I'm not a huge waterless fan, but rinseless washing is perfectly acceptable imo. . . just not the way he does it, wow!

good god....

What brand of paper towels are those? I need to pick some up on my next order. They seem to work well for waterless washes.

HOLY MOTHER OF FAIL!! I am currently very ashamed of my Canadian heritage.... oh wait, he's from BC and I'm from QC. I guess this is what happens when you legalize cannabis

How do you like the evil"ish" laugh about the fact that it is not his car 0:18....

ROFL!

But ya, the fact he mentions he is Canadian did bother me too LOL

haha..someone please send him this link..what a goof

The guy who poured sand and motor oil on his hood and used a rotary to spread it all out called me a "schmuck" and told me "good luck with my life"...

Sand and oïl... is that a DIY homemade polish? ROFL!

Seems to me the guy has the right idea of protecting the environment and using bio products, all he needs to do is learn about car detailling now.

Before he disabled the comments, here is what he told me " the brush is actually designed to drop out the particulate, very cool design, if I was using the green super soft ones I would not do that., we have washed our Honda for ten years, no scratches and my Mercedes for three. That's why I brought these brushes in as a product line. The remaining streaks are from that simonized shine crap in the brush less car wash, we took of that material with the rim and tire cleaner, then he did not go back. "

Ok, so they just drop it out back onto the paint to be pushed around?

Nothing wrong with this video at all. The next step would be to start buffing the car while it's still slick and wet, that way you can just use one pad and go around the entire car in 15 minutes.

I would guess one could make between $1000 and $1500 off that car after that..... LOL

Probably not. Remember, the person that he is marketing to has NO FREAKING IDEA what a swirl is, much less do they care. My podiatrist has a 2005 black Lexus 470 that we cleaned up back in May or so, the wife and I spend SEVEN HOURS inside the freaking thing, everything from Folex, to APC+, to vacs, steam cleaning, you name it. That's 14 man hours just on the interior. Even had to hit the headliner (and you KNOW how bad it is to mess with a headliner) because it literally looked like they'd open sodas that had been shaken up and let them fizz all over the headliner, and once that was done they'd pour it on the carpets. (Oh, and it's the light tan interior, not the black.)

And of course he didn't care at all about the exterior, but I did a quick Megs 151 on it just for the heck of it. :_

Then when taking it back I tried, (yet again) to let me at least put some sealant on his new 5 Series. His reply? "I don't worry about that one, it is a brand new lease." Come to find out, the ONLY reason he did it at all, was BECAUSE he got a new 5 Series for himself and was placating his wife!!!!!!!!

Bottom line, is most people are never going to be willing to spend $500 doing a paint correction much less fifteen hundred. :dunno:

Oh and did you notice he had what... about ½ a gallon of old dirty water in the bottom of his CLEAN bucket?

OMG!!! There has to be a logical explanation! Maybe he was doing a full paint correction after?

I'll bet ya' a kidney that he has no idea what a paint correction even IS! :nomore:

This did remind me of something I've talked about here before. That is the use of cheap microfiber towels when doing a paint correction. I don't use the really stupidly thin ones but I think you may remember me talking about seeing it done. Surely some people use them, just begs the question to me; "When doing a job where a client/customer is present (aka: on site) wouldn't it be a better idea to pull out more expensive towels just so they KNOW you're using something that they've not even seen before?" Towels, (good ones even) can be used on paint correction more than once, no problem. So why not use them?

Same line of thinking at the video guy, it's a wonder he doesn't have one using a "water blade". I've seen that done as well, on cars that were NOT getting paint correction. Hey, if it works who am I to say. :dunno: Just seems to be taking a chance that need not be taken.
