Leather cleaner

If this is for your personal car(s) you could try meguiar's leather sealer kit. Does not have a scent that lingers.

I've had good luck with CG leather cleaner, but not the conditioner. It left a residue on my seats. You can see its been rubbed off the seats from people's butts. Maybe its the type of seat in my Focus ST, but I'm going to try a different brand next time.

Highly recommend the cleaner though.

You used too much and didn't dry buff it well enough if you had a residue. I don't use it on newer coated leather. I'll go with 303 Aerospace on that. Usually depends how the leather looks after I clean it. If it looks dry I'll go with the conditioner. Never had any issues with residue.

Are any of the cleaners/conditioners you all have mentioned specifically for the "coated" leather, that seems to be present more and more in cars these days. I don't think I have seen "real leather" seats for some time.

for newer cars with coated leather, I just go with 303 Aerospace for UV protection. Don't really need to condition those. As the coating wears after 3-5+ years, you will start to be able to see some "dryness", especially if there has been no protection applied for that first 3-5+ years. That's when I move to the conditioner. I can basically tell once the leather has been cleaned whether I should do a conditioner or just the 303.

A lot of the leather products are made for coated and uncoated leather, but I haven't seen anything specifically for coated only.

Woolite 10:1was recommended by Lexus in their owners manuel at one time to clean their leather seats. I'm not sure if it still is, but it worked okay when I used it.

A mate recently was in a pinch with no 1st step leather cleaner. Told him to try diluted wool wash (for doing laundry) and a soft brush.

Worked out well, got the seats clean, and didn't seem to strip them like APC can... he then applied a basic leather conditioner and it's looking good.

Sometimes the old tricks are still good ones
