14 Corvette - my own detail

Glen,
I have a 2014 Vette scheduled for detail in 2 weeks. Anything special you ran across that is out of the ordinary while detailing yours? Carbon fiber issues, etc? I think my biggest problem is going to be not wanting to give it back to the customer.:xyxthumbs:

No, not really, just makes sure the customer knows it probably needs a wet sand on the sides to get mirror like detail, the cars are coming thru with a strong amt of orange peel....horiz surfaces are good.....I am going to try the car pro velvet pads and FG 400 on a rotary soon and see if I can clean it up a little without sanding....

Also, the black wheels scratch, so sell them on an OPTI coat job down there....
 
Glen, have you taken any PTG readings of the paint on the Vette? Also I'm guessing the new C7's have typical hard Corvette paint?
 
No readings....seems like plenty of clear and is typical chev hard....you can grind on it fine....lol....several have wet sanded already....
 
You shouldn't have to do that much work to a car like that, just sayin'!

Thanks for the info. He did not get the black wheels but I will be sure to really check the vertical panels. Your car looks awesome.

Really cool to see all the new Stingrays, just can't stand the rear valance, its just too high and dominates the rear instead of compliments it! Love the rest of the car!!

They used the info from many groups that were painting the rears black on C5's. Unfortunately the change didn't last with the C6 redesign. I have heard that a rear re-do is fast coming on the Vette, I just hope it doesn't have the cheesy rear lamps holders like the new Camaro. (looks like the old Prelude tails)
 
There won't be any redesign on the rear of the vette, just a few that don't like it, actually many do. Here is the new spoiler with opticoat:
